"Mr. Brown and Coach Lewis were gracious enough to give me this opportunity," Gruden said. "They went out on a limb and hired me and I didn't want to leave at the first job thrown at me."

Awesome.
That’s rare to see in sports.

Boy, that Jay Gruden is something else, isn't he?
Complete class act. Also, the complete opposite of Brat.

Can we just promote Marvin to GM
and then give Zimmer HC, and Gruden Assistant HC!
Marvin handles personnel, Zimmer Handles defense, and Gruden handles offense.
WE WIN SUPERBOWLS!!!!!
So tired of the Marvin to GM posts
I have never heard once that ML wanted to leave coaching to pursue a job in the front office. Why we continually make assumptions that ML would just give up the HC job for what is effectively a management job is beyond me. When and if he decides to retire from coaching then I’m fine with the posts but until that point, it’s incredibly tiresome.
Just needed to get that off my chest.

Nobody made any assumptions
Plus, I don’t think anybody cares what you think people should write about or what you’re tired of reading.
Guess I needed to get that off my chest…

eehhhh
I think Marvin has reached his ceiling…barring him winning a playoff game next year….I think he will be gone after next season…Mikey has not extended his contract and I think this speaks volumes

Doesn't mean anything
It could just be that ML hasn’t accepted an offer that’s on the table. He did the same thing in 2008.

gruden will probably start the 2012 season as the longest tenured o-coord in the afc north
rumor is cam is out in baltimore.
steelers are not resigning arians or he’s retiring, depends which report you believe.
and the browns already have a vacancy at o-coord which they hope to fill.
