FREE AGENCY AND THE DRAFT
We all agree that there are some glaring needs on this team to win a Super Bowl. In my opinion those needs go in this order Gaurd, Cornerback/Safety, and Wide Receiver. I think we all agree on this. First off all, we have to address either the Gaurd or Defensive Back positions in free agency or both. I would suggest making a hard push to get either NIcks/Grubbs or Laron Landry. If we sign one of these players it allows us to take the best players available throughout the draft. I have a feeling that we won't be able to pay enough for Nicks so that leaves Landry. I say we pay him, he is a hard hitting safety that can run side line to side line and would be a perfect fit to smack those running backs in the AFC North. Next I say we look at getting a WR that we can get a good price on. I think Meachum or Garcon would be great fits. I say we sign Meachum he is a speedster who has a high ceiling and potential. I say we also we add a decent linebacker to add some depth. Now that leaves the draft. I say 1st round we take Decastro and Kirkpatrick/Jenkins, 2nd round we take the best RB available and in the 3rd another D tackle to add into the rotation of Atkins, Peko, and Sims who we should definitely resign. I think this is a recipe for success and we address all needs. Of course if a player like Richardson drops we take him but I don't feel he will be there. So there you have it.
FREE AGENCY: Laron Landry, Robert Meachum, and LB DRAFT:1st Decastro, Kirkpatrick/Jenkins 2nd best RB 3rd best DT.( In the following rounds I would add an additional WR and G to make some competition in camp) WHO DEY!!!
TELL ME WHAT YOU THINK.

Sounds Great!!
LaRon Landry SS- Might have to overpay a little with Washington Reputation for Spending a lot in FA
Other Options
1) Michael Griffin
2) Madieu Williams
3) Dwight Lowery
4)Thomas DeCoud
5)Tyvon Branch
Robert Meachem WR- Might be moving away from NO but only if Drew Brees Deal fall in place
I would actually put
1.)Tyvon Branch
2.)Michael Griffin
3.)Dwight Lowery
4.)Thomas Decoud
Madieu would not be on my list. We let him go for a reason.
I like it
If the Bengals had Landry, Nelson, and Mays…that would be a scary crew to deal with. Wide receivers would cringe if their route had them going across the middle. But I doubt any big money is spent on free agency. Then again the new MB might be looking to switch it up and make a few splashes for once. Dreaming?
They're EVENTUALLY going to have to spend in FA
and now they have the room sans the Palmer contract. I would be more surprised this year to see the Bengals stand pat in FA than to see them make a splash.

I agree
We have so much money to spend by next season,so even after maybe extending some of their own, they will have no choice but to fill some holes through free agency. Whether or not it’s a upper tier free agent(s) will come down to how serious this front office is about winning.
Your missing one glaring need!
Running back needs to be taken care of before wr. I think if we sign Landry, that means Nelson will probably be out of the picture. I have a feeling if we don’t sign a guard in free agency, DeCastro won’t fall to us.
True,
but it’s safer to go for a WR in free agency than a RB in FA. Running backs wear down quickly, so I’d actually rather have a 23-year-old rookie than a 27-year old proven commodity. WRs break down, but a little later than RBs. I’d stick it out for Miller or Polk in the 2nd round, maybe even Miller in the first since he probably won’t fall to the 2nd anymore. But the WR FA market is way deeper and more reliable than the RB market. RB is a big need, but S and WR are better fits for FA signings.

You hit all the needs but you are in a dream world where Mike Brown spends any money on a elite FA.
When I say “elite” I mean elite money because sometimes most teams overpay to fill holes and Mike Brown is not one.
Our biggest hole by far is the OG position and to be honest we need 2 and Decastro will not be at 17 and Dre Kirkpatrick weed arrest and all will be gone by 17, the kid is 6’3 and can run with the best of them.
The next spot is WR. This team needs someone who can take some pressure off Green who is doubled everywhere he goes. Shipley is coming off an ACL and nobody knows if he will come back to same. If Cincy can get either Michael Floyd or Alshon Jeffrey this team will be really stacked at the skill position. You can get a good RB in the 3rd round or with free agency. This team has to address this offense if we are to take that next step!
Kenneth Lewis Moore
No WR in the first
I really don’t see that happening. They’ll likely bring in a vet WR in FA. We really don’t need another big name skill offensive skill position player outside of a RB maybe. Gresh, Green, Shipley, and a vet WR is fine. It’s the O line and secondary is the teams biggest need. If we want to get to the next level those are the wholes that need to be filled not wast a high draft pick on a WR.

agree
Not enough to go around to another stud wide out. We need a 2nd wideout to catch 50 balls or so, and 50 catch wideouts aren’t taken in round one.

If you think about it...
The Bengals are similar too Detroit. Maybe a year or 2 behind there O. Let’s look at what they’ve done and how there offense is. Drafted Calvin, Petigrew, Stafford, Best, and titus Young. Let’s look at WR specifically. CJ is the all great WR, 1st round pick. Then signed Burleson in FA, and drafted Titus in the 2nd round. How far are we from them. Get a solid deep threat in FA, ala Meechum or Garcon, draft a WR in the 2nd or 3rd round ala Nick toons, and I’m just going to throw this name out there and keep an eye on him. 6’5 220 Quick from app st. Read his Bio and he didn’t play football til his senior year in HS. If his 40 time is 4.4 4.5 I am going to Marvin and Mike personally lol! He is my sleeper WR in the draft alongside Posey which should be available in the 4th or 5th… Anyway back to topic at hand. Our offense is not to far behind. Definitely need a starting RB via the draft and guard via FA in my opnion. Our Defense line has a pretty good rotation like Detriots. What is Detroit missing? Everything else. We however are not we are a Safety, Corner, and DL away from being a top 5 D in 2012. One DT for run and one for pass. Peko, Atkins, and Simms are good, add Wolfe from UC and another big Ugly for back up to Pek and Simms and the Dline is good. Geathers is old and they may have to address DE sometime during the offseason. Draft the best CB Jenkins/Gilmore/ Dennard and were good. I think this year they put Mays and Sands on the field to replace Wilson and Crocker.
"Men often become what they believe themselves to be. If I believe I cannot do something, it makes me incapable of doing it. But when I believe I can, I then acquire the ability to do it even if I didn't have it in the beginning."
If Mario Williams is a UFA
I would like him.
Obviously, he is out of place as a 43 DE in the Houston 34 and Houston’s D performed well when he missed over 1/2 the season. If he ends up on the Market, I hope the Bengals go after him. That is all.

My problem with this theory
is that nobody really looks at the quality affordable players in FA below the top two or three guys. Laron Landry and Nicks/Grubbs are probably pipe dreams because they will get huge contracts this year, and we all know what that means for FAs. There are probably a pool of decent players below them that are within striking distance and an improvement for the Bengals, and we should more realistically set our sights on them
