Open Thread: The 2012 NFL Pro Bowl
Four Cincinnati Bengals players will play in today's Pro Bowl, with Andy Dalton expected to take snaps at some point in the second half. Tight end Jermaine Gresham, wide receiver A.J. Green and defensive tackle Geno Atkins will join Cincinnati's franchise quarterback on Sunday.

i considered doing an artie lange on myself during that pregame "music"
"the bengals are not a west of the 104 longitude team."
They really thought this was the best song to play before an NFL game?
I mean, it is the softest game of the year, but really?

its the nfl

Copy MLB
Whoever wins this plays the Super Bowl at home. If it’s -30 in Green Bay so be it. Then they’ll play.
That wouldn't work. The people in the Super Bowl aren't playing.
So the people actually in the Pro Bowl would still have no incentive to play well.
Cincy Jungle: Where the Rocky Mountains are in the Pacific Ocean
The game can't be moved to earlier.
You can’t stick it in the middle of the playoffs, and a mid-season Pro Bowl wouldn’t make sense because there wouldn’t be enough games to judge from. I think we just have to deal with it being flag football.
Cincy Jungle: Where the Rocky Mountains are in the Pacific Ocean

They should really just get rid of the linemen and play 7-on-7 if this is how the linemen are going to play.
I mean, it’s obviously not a real game, but this is just stupid.
Cincy Jungle: Where the Rocky Mountains are in the Pacific Ocean

"the bengals are not a west of the 104 longitude team."
Preseason games are also exhibition.
I know it’s different because in those guys are looking to get in shape for the season and some need to play well to make the team. But still, those are low-stakes games and there’s still some effort.
I mean, can’t they treat it like they did when they were kids and played in the back yard for fun? There’s more contact there than here.
Cincy Jungle: Where the Rocky Mountains are in the Pacific Ocean

Also, I remember a highlight where the AFC ran a stupid trick play where the punter ran and Sean Taylor blew him up. Seriously, the ball flew 10 yards in the air from his hands before hitting the ground.

I remember in the 90's this game was competitive
not sure when it stopped…
Watching Stanford Jennings kick return in the Super Bowl was the out of body experience of my sports life.
Height wise, yeah, but he's built pretty solid.
Anyone who’s 5’7 and 210 is pretty big as far as body mass.
Cincy Jungle: Where the Rocky Mountains are in the Pacific Ocean
I like that he's giving some effort...
But yeah, he sort of came off as that one try-hard that everyone hates.
Cincy Jungle: Where the Rocky Mountains are in the Pacific Ocean
We finally saw a little bit of a hit.
And of course, it was delivered by a Steeler.
Cincy Jungle: Where the Rocky Mountains are in the Pacific Ocean
Even in this ridiculously bad game of flag football, Geno finds a way to make a play.
Cincy Jungle: Where the Rocky Mountains are in the Pacific Ocean
Looked like a terrible pass from Rivers.
He was open with a back shoulder throw.
This may be a bad analogy but she seems to be like C Dempsey on the men's team
Doesn’t always look like they are doing much but seems to come up with big goals….anyway she’s hot which is all that really matters :)
Slower Traffic Keep Right!
That's Carli Lloyd or Tobin Heath
They played terrible all the last game but got goals so on the stat sheet they come out looking strong.
Anyone that can score 5 goals in one game is a-ok with me. Natural striker. Very exciting. Best player imo from the ‘Big name’ WC gals is Rampone.
Yeah, we're going to hurt when she retires this year.
Solo could give her a run for her money as far as “Best player” though. But apples and oranges.

The other teams would actually try to stack the box. The logic would be that they don’t have enough guys in the secondary to cover them and they’re going to lose that battle anyways, so they might as well just try to shut down the run.
