They really thought this was the best song to play before an NFL game?

I mean, it is the softest game of the year, but really?

That wouldn't work. The people in the Super Bowl aren't playing.

The game can't be moved to earlier.

You can’t stick it in the middle of the playoffs, and a mid-season Pro Bowl wouldn’t make sense because there wouldn’t be enough games to judge from. I think we just have to deal with it being flag football.

by emeybee on Jan 29, 2012 7:50 PM EST up reply actions

Preseason games are also exhibition.

I know it’s different because in those guys are looking to get in shape for the season and some need to play well to make the team. But still, those are low-stakes games and there’s still some effort.

I mean, can’t they treat it like they did when they were kids and played in the back yard for fun? There’s more contact there than here.

If you’re going ignore the unwritten rules of the Pro Bowl and stay up, I’m going to ignore them and hit you.

Speaking of Seymour and Atkins

I thought this was pretty cool on the mothership

" Raiders defensive tackle Richard Seymour, named to his seventh Pro Bowl at age 32, also has his eyes on the 23-year-old Atkins. Seymour isn’t exactly looking to get a ton of snaps.

"I already told him," Seymour said, "I’m going to do whatever I can to make sure he wins MVP."

The other teams would actually try to stack the box. The logic would be that they don’t have enough guys in the secondary to cover them and they’re going to lose that battle anyways, so they might as well just try to shut down the run.
