What would you do with the 17th and 21st pick...
Alright, let me give you the situation, the Jets just picked with their draft pick. Trent Richardson and David DeCastro are still left on the board, there is no chance of either getting past the 18th pick. Who do you take and why? I would love to hear all of your situations. Oh and the picks are trade able.
Here is my thought:
Draft DeCastro with the 17th pick; a dominant O-line is way more important than a good Running Back, plus DeCastro will be an All-Pro/Pro Bowler every year. Then we package the 21st pick, and our 5th rounder from NE to trade up with San Diego for the 19th pick. We then select Trent Richardson. Could you imagine that? DeCastro and Richardson with two consecutive picks? That would definitely get the fan base excited for this team even more. I wouldn't even mind giving up a third rounder (ours or compensatory for J-Joe loss) in the trade as well. That's a small price to pay for a dominant Guard and RB in the first round. Then we can address CB with out second round pick.
What do you think? Please leave thoughts, improvements, and our own suggestions!

Mark Barron for sure
DeCastro next to Whit is scary. Barron is the guy who can give Hinds Ward a Bloody Nose.
Trent R is a non pass. Dallas needs interior help. Decrasto may not be there at 17. Barron is a lock if he is there at 17. Dallas picks 14. Dallas has great need for middle lineman.
DeCastro would play RG

every comment i see from you is love for mays
Why the love? I want him to work out and all but what has he shown?

whether Mays works out is not the issue, the issue is Crocker has proven himself a liability
and we can’t put all our eggs in one basket. Might as well bring in someone else to give Mays competition and bump Crocker out. IMO
AMAS
Sands
Has proven less than Mays, but provides more competition at the position. I am not saying don’t take Barron, but competiion already exists with Mays beyond Crocker and Barron. We still need another safety in this draft, but the question remains when should we take him.

I'd rather have Boling next to Whit, as it seems like Boling would be better suited there.
Put DeCastro next to Andre and maul people to death with size.

DeCastro isn’t a mauler. He’s a pulling type and technician.

We won’t be getting a comp pick for J-Jo and I like the picks and I would even take Decastro-Miller or Glenn-Richardson. Then grab a cornerback or maybe even 2 in 2nd and 3rd and I would be happy. But that all depends what kind of player they decide to be in free agency. If they get a corner and guard in free agency that will make the draft even better because it opens up options. Thats why Nicks or Grubbs needs to be the focal point of the offseason.
17= best Gaurd available
21= best DB available

I don’t want to see Marvin fired, I want him to be promoted to G.M. while handing the reigns over to Zimmer as head coach. Who Dey!!!

did glenn help his stock in your mind this week?
Everything I’ve heard he did good, but that doesn’t always mean much.

He helped hos stock by showing Jenkins could play RT. He darted the same as G for me. Not elite, not worth 1st round pick.

I don't get the Barron love.
There’s no safety that warrants a first round selection.
Also I can delete your posts now guys, this is great. :D

Def would be a good idea to trade later picks to move up a couple spots.
Later picks probably won’t be making the team anyways. Only way I wouldn’t is if they have someone they are looking at and liking in the 5th round. Wouldn’t give up anything better than 5th round though.
I'd trade any of our later picks to get who we want
We need quality over quanity. I’d probably be more inclined to move up a couple spots to get DeCastro. Also trading #21 for a high pick in the 2nd could be favorable as the drop in talent is not that much. We could still get a very good DB, RB, OL or even WR with the two 2nd round picks.
I thought that too
but there aren’t really any teams that have 2 2nd round picks (one of them being an early 2nd round pick) that we could make that trade with. So basically if we did make that trade one of the 2nd round picks would be a 2013 pick, which I don’t know about then.
Not a trade for two 2nds....We keep our 2nd round pick
and trade # 21 for a VERY high 2nd round pick + their 3rd or 4th. Something along those lines. One of the bottom feeders may have someone targeted and could be itching to make their move.
In what Alternate Universe can you possibly imagine DeCastro & Richardson being available at 17 & 19?????????

In some mocks
they are there at 17 and 21. And these aren’t mocks of just Bengals fans picking for teams to make sure these 2 fall. They are fans from all teams picking what they think/hope/whatever their team will take. It’s just as possible to happen in the real draft.

We know we won't get this lucky but...
stranger things have happened. As long we can somehow get DeCastro without Richardson, the rest of our picks should fall right into place.
In like every other mock that is happening right now.
I know, I know… seems crazy, but… it is what it is.

I say that if Richardson and DeCastro are gone by 17, then you trade that pick...
to move down to the first half of the second round and draft Doug Martin with that pick. For the 21st pick you get Glenn of Konz.
What do you do when there's no way out? Find a way to get deeper in it.
