Michael Johnson visits a local school to reach out to students.

Bengals defensive end Michael Johnson is a man of charity. In 2010 Johnson setup the MJ93 Fund, designed to help students achieve their "educational and athletic goals through mentoring, tutoring and annual sports camps." Two years ago Johnson made the trip to his hometown Selma, Alabama not just to help students but financially help a school facing financial troubles. Players like Robert Geathers and Anthony Collins, as well as former players Antwan Odom and Clinton McDonald helped out.

Johnson was at it again this week, this time in Independence, Kentucky talking with students at Beechgrove Elementary and accompanied by linebacker Vinnie Rey. The message he gave was simple:

"Always do your best. Give it everything you’ve got to get the job done," said Johnson. "Take advantage of every day. Take advantage of every opportunity."

It wasn't just a speech either in front of a gymnasium full of students. Johnson had lunch with the kids and visited classrooms in the afternoon.
