Despite taking a loss to the Cleveland Browns on Sunday, Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver A.J. Green was nominated for AFC Offensive Player of the Week.

Despite losing to the Cleveland Browns 34-24 on Sunday, Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver A.J. Green was nominated for the AFC Player of the Week, only one of two wide receivers named -- the other being Browns receiver Josh Gordon. Green posted seven receptions for 135 yards receiving and a career-high two touchdowns last weekend, though 82 yards of those yards came in the fourth quarter.

Green won the AFC Offensive Player of the Month for September.

Now it's rare that a player winning the award comes from a team that lost, and that remained true this week. Broncos quarterback Peyton Manning's Monday Night performance sealed it, completing 80 percent of his passes for 309 yards passing and a touchdown. More notably Manning overcame a 24-0 half time deficit to beat the Chargers 35-24. It was his 47th game-winning drive in the fourth quarter to tie Dan Marino for most by a player since 1980.
