Its Monday morning and we've all had time for the emotions from last night's game to run their course.
I just wanted to update this FanPost with a most sincere "Thank You" for your hospitality this past week. It is indeed a pleasure being able to talk football with fans of our opponents who don't shy away from competitive jabs, but have the class, as Cincy Jungle proved here, to realize it should all be in good fun, and at the end of the day, should be informative for both sides.
I apologize for not being on here much the last day or two, but am pleased to see I wasn't really needed.
I stand by my earlier comments about Dalton and Green; in those two players, I believe yinz have the ingredients for success. You may need to get some additional threats on offense to help take the pressure off of Green, but he is the real deal.
Thanks again for your hospitality, and good luck with the balance of your season.
Greetings Cincy Jungle. As one of your own, Mexal was so kind as to continue the tradition of the "Ask a........Fan" over at BTSC, I thought I'd do the same here.
This game is HUGE for the Steelers; not just from a won/loss standpoint, but also because its (obviously) a Division game, a road game, and a test of the character of the 2012 Pittsburgh Steelers.
Don't know if you've noticed, but the Steelers aren't doing all that well. We're 2-3, with all of our losses on the road. Makes coming into your fair city for a prime time game that much more difficult. Obviously we need the win to keep pace with yinz, but more importantly we need a win to settle the nerves of the players, and of Steeler Nation. This is NOT our fathers' Pittsburgh Steelers we're seeing this year.
And its not our fathers' Bengals either. I for one, have been very impressed with your young QB, Andy Dalton. And what makes his performance even more amazing is your WR A.J. Green. In both games against us last year, these two rookies hooked up for two looong touchdowns. And right now, our Secondary is one of our primary concerns.
Not a good recipe for a much needed Steeler road victory.
Anyways, those are my $0.02 worth. I'm not a technical "X's & O's" guy, but there are plenty of my BTSC brethren who can handle those questions. Aside from my team bias, I hope both teams play well, and most importantly, nobody on either side gets injured.
Let's keep things clean and civil (on both sides) shall we? With that, I wish you and your Bengals good luck, and let 'er rip!
