Bad:
Rey M. - Everyone has pretty much beat this to death so I won't go into detail. Hopefully they use the bye to get someone else ready.
3rd down Defense - We did great on first and second down usually but I am not sure what changed on third down. There were numerous times we got them to 3rd and 5+ yards and they converted almost every time. The times they didn't was because of Wallace dropping the ball. I am not sure why this is the case, but I would think that the play calling is the primary reason for this
Not throwing to AJ - They showed a stat at the start of the 4th quarter that AJ had been targeted 3 times. I don't know why Gruden thinks we can win by not throwing to our best player more than 3 times. This probably disappointed me the most during the game.
Dalton's batted balls - Dalton needs to figure out how to avoid getting his balls batted down at the line of scrimmage. I think he is good but still learning. You don't see this happen to Drew Brees all that often so obviously it is possible to avoid even though he is short. Hopefully he figures this out sooner rather than later.
D-line - We did not get nearly enough pressure on the QB considering the Steelers were down two of their starters. Some credit goes to the Steelers backup for game planning this, but really, we should have gotten much more pressure on big Ben.
Coaching - 1st challenge was stupid. We haven't looked prepared for a game in a few weeks now. Lots of 3 and outs. Terrible 3rd Down Defense. Terrible play calling. Special teams couldn't make a tackle.
Good:
Burfict - Nice to see him making plays for another week.
Whalen - Also nice to see him get involved. He was dependable for the most part.
Crocker - He had a nice interception in the end zone. Did not really see much of him the rest of the game, but I did not see much of anyone in our secondary the rest of the game. Hall and Crocker were the only ones who were playing okay back there.
1st Drive - BJGE looked good on the first drive. So did Dalton. For some reason, we were unable to recreate anything that looked like that the rest of the game. Not sure, but I'm thinking the coaching and play calling were responsible. Way too many 3 and outs.
I'm not giving up on them yet. But we are going to need to go on a win streak late to pull off a playoff appearance since I dont see us beating Denver or NYG. Our late schedule looks manageable after that and really, the AFC is wide open. Lets use the Bye week to regroup, get healthy and fix some problems. Who Dey!
