The Cincinnati Bengals made roster moves on Monday, prematurely ending one season while finally getting another kick started.

The Cincinnati Bengals announced on Monday that they've added linebacker (and defensive end) Dontay Moch to the 53-man roster, available after placing running back Bernard Scott on Injured Reserve which prematurely ends his season after reportedly suffering an ACL injury against the Miami Dolphins during Cincinnati's 17-13 loss on Sunday. Cincinnati was granted a one week exemption after Dontay Moch's four-game suspension expired, allowing the linebacker time to get back into routine without counting against the 53-maximum.

Scott's 2012 year was marred by injuries to his hand, ankle and now his knee, playing only two games and posting 35 yards rushing on eight carries -- 29 of those yards during a first quarter sprint against the Dolphins on Sunday. Despite the continued questions about his durability, it's the first time since 2009 that Scott will miss time due to an injury. Making matters worse for the fourth-year running back is that he's entering the offseason as an unrestricted free agent. Terrible news for a running back coming off a major knee injury.

The Bengals could look at free agency to replace Scott, giving the team a full compliment of four running backs. They could also promote Dan Herron from the practice squad or simply promote Brian Leonard and Cedric Peerman's playing time.
