I love the quarterback we have in Andy Dalton
. He's cool, poised, nothing distracts him and he has the "clutch gene". But one thing that the bengals staff needs to understand is he is only a second year quarterback. He has showed plenty of promise in his rookie season as well as in the previous games in this season and I really think in years to come he will take the bengals to a long awaited super bowl. But he has a bunch to learn still. The game against Miami should have resulted in a W. But a few reasons why we lost in the upset?
1. NO RUN GAME! As much as I like BJGE, lets all be honest! HE SUCKS (right now) his best game was in Baltimore. He hasnt done anything since, he runs right into the line and gets hit and its rinse and repeat from there. What I dont understand is why are we not using the other backs we have? Why are we not rotating Peerman, and Leonard who showed they can be effective at times? We have talent at the RB position but yet we dont use them! Hell we barely even run. We need to get our ground and pound game together. We get that going that will open the game for dalton a little bit more.
2. PUTTING THE GAME IN ANDY DALTONS HANDS! What pissed me off mostly about the game against Miami is it looked like we kept setting up in the same shotgun single back plays. We rarely ran the ball, we did not mix up any plays, do any tricks nothing! I thought bob brat was back for a second. Andy Dalton is not a franchise quarterback and you cant think that after a good rookie season and a few good games. I feel like they are putting games in his hands instead of relying on the team. Watching the game im like why are we in the shotgun on 3rd and 2? Why are we in the shotgun on 1st and 10? Where is the play action? Another thing is why dont we have any plays where Andy Dalton runs? I know hes not Cam, or RG3 but if you look at his college highlights he can run fast enough to make option plays work as wells as draws and sneaks. I just think we need to utilize everyone and connect the run and pass game and make them work together. When we do this I really believe Andy will reach the next level.
3. WIDE RECEIVERS OTHER THAN AJ GREEN! We have some good talent at WR, and we have a monster with AJ Green. But i think besides AJ they are slightly overrated. I love baby hawk but i dont think we utilize him enough and as much as we should. He is to quick and fast to be barely seen making plays. He can be one of the top slot receivers in the league if correctly used. Armon Binns
is good as well but he has that make one play and is no where to be found the next 5 plays talent we need more consistentcy from him. And what happened to Brandon Tate
being a WR? I say if these guys are not showing up lets put in our draft picks Marvin Jones
, Mohammed Sanu. Put them in thats how well know if they are good or not.
I LOVE MY BENGALS! But im just saying we need to get somethings worked out. You cant keep putting Dalton out there like he is peyton or brady. We need a more versatile offense. We cant keep losing games we are supposed to win. Especially because defenses know what we are doing. Hopefully we get it together and make the post season. WHO DEY!
