Cincy Jungle Podcast Special: Interview With Former Bengals Great Anthony Munoz

Cincy Jungle Editor Anthony Cosenza chatted with former Bengals offensive tackle and Pro Football Hall of Famer Anthony Munoz. They talked about a number of topics, ranging from the 2012 Bengals squad to an honor that's being bestowed on him Wednesday afternoon.

(Editor's Note: I have to throw a big "thank you" to Jason Blanton who produces our podcast and sets up everything behind the scenes. Jason scrambled to set this interview up through our podcast channel and made sure we fielded Anthony Munoz's call. JB is the consummate "Unsung Hero".)

Cincy Jungle was privileged to have the opportunity to speak with former Bengals great and Pro Football Hall of Fame Offensive Tackle, Anthony Munoz. Among the topics we chatted with Mr. Munoz about were: the 2012 Cincinnati Bengals squad, the teams he played on, this year's USC Trojans team and the "Hometown Hall of Fame" honor that he will be receiving on Wednesday night in Southern California. A huge thank you to Mr. Munoz, AllState Insurance and the Pro Football Hall of Fame for giving us this opportunity to speak with him. You can listen to the podcast interview here.

If you're unable to listen to the audio, here are some highlights of the interview:

+Of the current Bengals team, Munoz likes what they have built and believes that they could be in the hunt the rest of the way. He likes the "strong foundation" of Andy Dalton and A.J. Green on the squad and was impressed with how the offensive line rebounded from early injuries to Kyle Cook and Travelle Wharton.

+A few people and players that Munoz looked up to as a young football player included former USC coach John Robinson, former offensive tackle Art Shell, and former Bengals offensive lineman, Dave Lapham.

+Of the 2012 USC Trojans, Munoz felt that their preseason No.1 ranking was too high, but feels they can turn their disappointing 6-3 start into a good season with wins against UCLA and Notre Dame.

+If you're unfamiliar with Munoz's foundation, check out their website and learn more. They do a lot of wonderful things to raise money for scholarships for kids, among other great things.

+Munoz will be honored as a "Hometown Hall of Fame" player on Wednesday night at 4 PM PST. He'll go back to his high school Alma Mater of Chaffey High School and be honored there. The "Hometown Hall of Fame" is brought to you by AllState Insurance and the Pro Football Hall of Fame.
