Bengals Thursday Practice Update: An Interesting Day For Cincinnati

Frank Victores-US PRESSWIRE

The Bengals have had some good news come their way, in regards to Thursday's participation at practice.

Thursday's practice had a whirlwind of news surrounding Bengals players. Aside from the good news that rookie wide receiver Marvin Jones practiced on a limited basis for the first time in weeks, there were positive signs from other Bengals that we haven't heard from in some time.

The most notable was that starting center Kyle Cook was "vigorously" rehabbing with trainer Nick Cosgray, according to Bengals.com Editor, Geoff Hobson. Cook wasn't the only player who suffered a major preseason injury that was rehabbing today, as Shaun Prater was also seen working out with Cook. Keep in mind that Cook is eligible to return this year, while Prater is not. When Cook is healthy, he can be activated back onto the 53-man roster.

Various other sources surrounding the team also noted that Adam Jones, who had been battling a calf injury, returned to practice on Thursday as did defensive tackle Devon Still. Unfortunately, starting safety Reggie Nelson didn't practice once again, but did get some rehab work on the side field as well. Nelson has been battling a nagging hamstring injury the past couple of weeks which forced him to miss last week's game against the New York Giants.
