With :53 seconds remaining in the second quarter, Bengals cornerback Terence Newman held-up Chiefs wide receiver Terrance Cooper (following a nine-yard completion) long enough for Vontaze Burfict to growl a fearsome Uruk-Hai demeanor into the precious hearts of every man on that football field. The collision knocked Newman down (and through another dimension).

After laying on the field momentarily, Newman returned to the Bengals sidelines and even played a down or two at the end of the first half. However he didn't return after half time once concussion tests concluded that Newman suffered a concussion.

On Monday Bengals head coach Marvin Lewis told reporters during his weekly Monday press conference that Newman is able to practice this week. If Newman misses the game this weekend against the Oakland Raiders, the Bengals could be down two starters in the secondary, including safety Reggie Nelson. Not necessarily awesome considering the Bengals face a familiar quarterback in Carson Palmer, who is averaging over 300 yards passing per game this year.
