Cincy Jungle's Week Eleven Most Valuable Player Award

Jamie Squire

We continue our year-long feature to honor the past week's Most Valuable Player. Cast your vote and weigh in on who you believe should win this week.

Two weeks and two dominating Bengals performances. You can debate which performance that you preferred between the respective drubbings of the New York Giants or Kansas City Chiefs, but the one common thread is Bengals domination. In those types of games, there are usually so many players to choose from so really there isn't a wrong answer here (not that mine ever is wrong).

Quarterback Andy Dalton played another near-flawless game, his second in as many weeks. Though the offense was off to a slow start on Sunday, Dalton came through with 230 yards on 18 of 29 passing and three total touchdowns (two passing, one rushing). Since being called out by Bengals head coach Marvin Lewis, Dalton has really played well and led the team's charge back into the playoff picture.

Here's where things get tough for me to decide on a true MVP this week. First, you have to give a lot of credit to BenJarvus Green-Ellis. He hasn't had the best season, but was an absolute force on Sunday afternoon. He registered his first 100-yard game (101 yards), averaged over four yards per carry and added a touchdown. He gouged the Chiefs run defense, who had been ranked No.4 and consistently fell forward for positive yards. It wasn't pretty, but it was the type of performance that the Bengals brought the former New England Patriot to Cincinnati.

Then there was the absolutely dominating performance by Geno Atkins. He registered six tackles, a sack and had two forced fumbles on the day. Whether it was Brady Quinn or Matt Cassel under center, Atkins took over the game and continues to build upon his reputation as one of the league's premiere defensive tackles.
