ProFootballFocus.com grades for Week 9: Bengals vs. Broncos

See PFF's "About" page for more information on their grading system.

Offense

Best: A.J. Green (+4.1)
Other good grades: Jermaine Gresham (+2.3), Clint Boling (+2.0), Andrew Whitworth (+1.7), Andy Dalton (+1.7), Kevin Zeitler (+1.5)

Worst: Jeff Faine (-2.5)
Other bad grades: Armon Binns (-1.6), Brandon Tate (-1.0)

Defense

Best: Geno Atkins (+3.5)

Other good grades: Reggie Nelson (+1.6), Emmanuel Lamur (+1.2), Terence Newman (+1.1)

Worst: Vontaze Burfict (-2.4; -1.4 pass coverage)
Other bad grades: Chris Crocker (-1.2), Adam Jones (-1.0 in 3 snaps)

Other performances of note:

-Rey Maualuga (-0.5 overall) graded very well against the run (+1.4) but very poorly in pass coverage (-1.9). In the first 4 games, his overall grade was -13.3; in the last 4 games, his overall grade is -2.5.

-Another strange game where the pass rush (-9.3 for the team overall) disappeared. The only person on the entire defense that graded positively in pass rush was Nate Clements (+0.3 on 2 pass rush snaps). Dunlap (-2.1), Michael Johnson (-1.7), and Geathers (-1.5) were the primary culprits.

-It was the complete opposite for run defense (+13.3 for the team overall), with Burfict the only one grading negatively (and even then only -0.2). Geno (+4.7), Dunlap (+2.0), Maualuga (+1.4), and Newman (+1.1) lead the way.

-Gresham's grade was his first positive overall grade since Week 1.

-Trevor Robinson bounced back from a tough week to score a dead even 0.0 in 38 snaps.
