PFF: Bengals Jeff Faine Was Worst Center In Week Nine

Evan Habeeb-US PRESSWIRE

According to ProFootballFocus.com, Bengals center Jeff Faine had the worst performance at center in the league during the Bengals Week Nine loss to the Denver Broncos.

Stop us if you've heard this before: the Cincinnati Bengals had some mighty struggles this weekend at center. The starter for much of the season, Jeff Faine, had been battling a nagging injury (along with ineffectiveness) that he suffered against the Pittsburgh Steelers, paving the way for rookie Trevor Robinson. Fans had hoped for an inspiring performance from Robinson against the Broncos, but he was unfortunately pulled with a hamstring injury and Faine returned in relief.

Make no bones about it, there were a few Bengals players who had bad games during Cincinnati's week nine loss to the Denver Broncos, their fourth loss in a row. Yet only one was labeled as the worst player at his position throughout the entire league.

And according to Pro Football Focus, that was Jeff Faine, highlighted during their latest "Had A Bad Day" Series:

Center: Jeff Faine, CIN (-2.5)

Oh Kyle Cook, Bengals fans never knew they loved you so. Jeff Faine continues to prove a big time dropoff.

Before the season started, Faine was signed to replace Kyle Cook, who went on the Injured Reserve/Designated To Return list after sustaining a high ankle sprain during the third preseason game this year.
