ProFootballFocus takes a look at the outstanding line work of Paul Alexander and how our O-line is consistently on the better end of the NFL.
The article focuses on the unorthodox ways that Alexander teaches the line and works them up. It interviews him as well, and provides interesting insight on how he thinks and what he truly uses to provide cohesion on the line.
One thing I particularly enjoyed about the read was the focus on how different our line is. Instead of allowing cohesion to be the main focus, and letting everything fall in place from there, we focus on leadership and everything else so that cohesion can just fall in place.
It also exemplifies the importance of veteran leadership on our line, and shows how at least one of our linemen is able to grow immensely each year.
I really liked hearing Alexander's approach to the growing speed of the game.
"Nobody is unblockable." That was how Bengals O-line and Assistant Head Coach Paul Alexander answered me when I asked him if there were ever plays when you can do nothing more than credit a fantastic move from a pass rusher.
That's the attitude that will keep our line strong for years to come.
