Backup Ravens Offense Takes 7-0 Lead Over Starting Bengals Defense

Stay connected for news and updates

With 2:47 remaining in the first quarter, backup Ravens quarterback Tyrod Taylor pulled down the called pass and began scrambling down the left sidelines. Defenders, notably Rey Maualuga gave up as the speedy quarterback appeared to go out of bounds. Instead Taylor cut upfield, picking up 28 yards to the Bengals 31-yard line.

After exchanging penalties and a nine-yard Bernard Pierce gain setup a second and ten from the Bengals 22-yard line, where Anthony Allen (who?) took the pitch on the outside down the right sidelines for a 20-yard gain, stopped two yards short of the endzone.

Allen bulldozed into the endzone, taking a 7-0 lead with 17 seconds remaining in the first quarter.
