Cardinals Fire Head Coach Ken Whisenhunt And General Manager Rod Graves

Stay connected for news and updates

The body count is now up to seven head coaches. According to multiple sources, the Arizona Cardinals have fired head coach Ken Whisenhunt and General Manager, Rod Graves. Whisenhunt had had some early success with the Cardinals, taking them to the Super Bowl with Kurt Warner after the 2008 season. They lost to the Pittsburgh Steelers in dramatic fashion, though made the playoffs in 2009 once again.

The rumors have the Cardinals promoting their head coach in-house, likely their defensive coordinator, Ray Horton. In case you want a Bengals history lesson, Horton was a defensive back with Cincinnati during both of their Super Bowl appearances in the 1980s. No news of the Cardinals being interested in the Bengals' coordinators has surfaced yet.
