Nugent Injury Not Believed To Be Serious

According to Geoff Hobson with, the calf injury that Bengals place kicker Mike Nugent reportedly suffered on Wednesday is "believed not to be a major injury, but it may take a week to get out the tweak."

It wouldn't be the first time Cincinnati required the brief stint from a free agent kicker. In 2008 Shayne Graham missed two games, so the Bengals signed Dave Rayner who had been with the team during the preseason. Nugent also missed time in 2009 with a torn ACL, so the team signed Clint Stitser. But the former comparison appears more relatable to the current situation.

Joe Reedy with the Cincinnati Enquirer originally reported that the Bengals were hosting veteran kickers Josh Brown and Nate Kaeding, along with a handful of others. He's since clarified that Kaeding won't be working out for the Bengals on Thursday.

Brown will be joined by former Bengals kicker Neil Rackers and former Baltimore Ravens kicker Billy Cundiff on Thursday, according to Reedy.
