The Cincinnati Bengals announced that they've signed Josh Brown and release center Jeff Faine.
After a quick work out on Thursday with a handful of veteran place kickers, the Cincinnati Bengals announced that they've signed Josh Brown to a contract to step in for an injured Mike Nugent, who supposedly hurt his right calf during Wednesday's practice. Brown, who spent five seasons with the Seattle Seahawks and the last four years with the St. Louis Rams, has a career 80.9 percent conversion rate (220 of 272).

Neil Rackers and Billy Cundiff also worked out in Cincinnati on Thursday.
It's unknown how long Nugent is expected to be out, but the injury may require a week or two to work out some tweaks.
The Bengals needed to make room, so they released Jeff Faine, who was expected to become a roster cut once Kyle Cook was ready to make the 53-man roster.
