I am participating in a mock draft as the bengals and am looking for help

I am the "GM" for Cincinnati in a mock draft on another website where every team is controlled by a different person. It will most likely go a full seven rounds and if anyone would like to throw out opinions on who to take and when please do.

Pre-draft trades are also available and I already have an offer for any one of these players: " What would it take for me to acquire Mike McGlynn, Carlos Dunlap, Jonathan Fanene, Frostee Rucker, or Reggie Nelson? " This was from the owner of the cowboys. I told him no Nelson,Dunlap, or Rucker but to make an offer for the other two.

As the draft rolls along I can update who is left when we are choosing.

This is a FanPost and does not necessarily reflect the views of Cincy Jungle's writers or editors. It does reflect the views of this particular fan though, which is as important as the views of Cincy Jungle's writers or editors.

A Bengals GM? You're hired!

Needs (in order of priority) – OG, CB, RB DT, #2 WR, LB (Strongside or Middle), DE

Round 1 Targets (in order of preference) – David DeCastro (G), Trent Richardson (RB), Dre Kirkpatrick (CB), Stephon Gilmore (CB),

Round 2 Targets – Doug Martin (RB), Kelechi Osemele (G), Chase Minnifield (CB), Casey Hayward (CB), Kevin Zeitler, (G)

I realize I listed a lot of RBs, Guards and CBs here, but don’t feel like you have to grab one of each with our first three picks. I wouldn’t be at all disappointed if you drafted a LB like Upshaw if he happened to fall in the first round or a DE Melvin Ingram if he dropped to 17. I mostly just listed the guys who would be great values at positions of need.

Trades: You could trade McGlynn for a package of peanuts and a half cup of water and I would be happy (I think he’s a FA anyways). I wouldn’t trade Fanene either. He’s a versatile player who can play DE or DT and be productive from both positions, though I think he’s also a FA this year.

Trades

I agree with animal you could see if you could get a 6 or 7 for Mcglynn which he is not worth, but might as see if you try one of these GM’s on for size but i would not get rid of any of the others.

Players I do like but NOT in the first round – Cordy Glenn and Mark Barron

Players I really really like – Doug Martin(2nd), Davis DeCastro (1rst)

I completely AGREE with players you don't like....+10

I might take Cordy Glenn in the 1st if DeCastro is gone…or if Kevin Zeitler is projected to fall to the 2nd then i’d wait and take him then….& i like Doug Martin in the 2nd.

Wait a minute

someone actually asked fr McGlynn?!?!?!

by Oregonbengalsfan on Feb 11, 2012 4:15 PM EST reply actions

McGlynn

He said he’d take him for a 6 and conditional 5 next year. I would have said yes but next year does me no good so I asked for 6 and 7 this year

Plus, McGlynn is a free agent.

Paul Brown Stadium, where everyone's hopes go to die.

yea i like kuechly

Did this off the top of my head, I’m sure I forgot more too. Not sure I put him ahead of upshaw, haven’t really gotten into studying the linebackers yet, but at first sight, kueluchy seems like he’s everything people hate in Keith rivers minus the injurys. Upshaw is what everyone loves in Rey, but hopefully without the stuff we hate in Rey. Like I said, this is all at first glance so I could be way off.

I like Kuechly also, but he will be gone.

Eagles will take him with their pick. Their LB’s were horrible last year and he is a guy that can come in and make an immediate impact.

My input.

1: DeCastro, Richardson, Kirkpatrick, Keuchly, Gilmore, or if there is a good talent BPA who fell somehow
2: Martin, Zeitler, Osemele, Minnifield, Silatilo, BPA
3. Any guard that grades here if one hasn’t been taken, Pead if he’s still available and we haven’t grabbed a RB yet, Best available CB if we haven’t grabbed one yet and it’s not a huge reach, DT or DE that grades well here, WR that grades well here, or safety that grades well here.
4 and on BPA.

Almost our pick

With only the jets left to pick at 16, the following players are still available: Gilmore, Jenkins, Barron, Glenn, miller, Wilson, konz
I’m thinking either Barron or Gilmore at 17 and hopefully the other is still available at 21.

I also received a trade offer for the 32nd overall pick and a 6th rounder for our 2nd and 3rd round picks. My Initial thoughts on the trade are to say no

Taylor MAys

YOu all better get ready for the comeback player of the year.

Trade for Deangelo Williams

I was just offered a trade for deangelo Williams and the number 9 selection in the 2nd round for the 17th overall pick. Thoughts?

by whodeyATL on Feb 13, 2012 11:55 AM EST via mobile reply actions

I say yes, moving back to no. 9 only loses you 23 spots

Plus you get a good running back in DeAngelo Williams. I would pull off that trade if I was you
