Could Eagles WR DeSean Jackson Be Headed For Cleveland?
From Mary Cay Cabot:
Jackson held out early in camp in a contract dispute and was disgruntled much of the season. But he still managed to lead the Eagles with 961 receiving yards. He poses a duel threat as a receiver/returner, and made the Pro Bowl in 2010 at both positions. The Eagles could franchise him or try to sign him to a long-term deal. If they let him go, few teams know him better than the Browns: Heckert drafted him in 2008 and coach Pat Shurmur was the Eagles' quarterbacks coach that season. Perhaps he'd have a better attitude and fewer drops with a change of scenery and a new long-term deal at top dollar.

Doesn't impress me as a receiver
I like how he can take the top off the defense, but that’s isn’t all you need to be able to do as a #1/#2. You have to be able to run crisp routes as well. Also, he tips out what type of play it’s going to be. It’s like what Chad did back in the day. His body language showed when he wasnt going to get the ball. I hate that.

worse case scenario for bengals
1) cleveland signs a FA wr of #1 caliber
2) someone other than cleveland trades with the rams or vikings to draft RG3.
which leaves cleveland drafting at #4 not needing or wanting a QB or WR. cleveland will either trade down at that point or draft a CB or RB. both of which will affect our draft prospects at 17 and 21.

Go Ahead
Look i know DeSean Jackson is a good player and dangerous in the return game, but he’s turning into a little T.O . The Browns will over pay for him and he’s goona cause problems in the locker room . so i’m not at least bit scared

more concerned with how it will affect clevelands draft
than anything jackson can bring to the browns. i agree he’s going the diva route and will bring the browns as much heartache as joy.

I'm going to go ahead and be the one to say it...
Not only is he a diva, he isn’t all that good. He was good in Philly, but they run a unique system. And that’s what he was; a system receiver. On most other teams, he’s probably #3/#4 with punt returning ability and a bad attitude. If he goes to Cleveland, it doesn’t worry me in the slightest; he might actually do more harm than good because he’ll have a massive contract and tear apart the locker room.
I am pretty scared of RGIII on the Browns, though.

Agreed, they can have Jackson. He scares me in the return game now more than anything.
They really do have to do something at WR though, sounds like they won’t be drafting Blackmon most likely, so could make sense. RGIII isn’t nearly as big as Newton, I wonder if he’s big enough to take the pounding he’ll get if he’s drafted by Cleveland to play in the AFC North.

The guy can take the top off any defense.
All he has to do is run go. McCoy wouldn’t be able to take advantage of that speed but with RGIII DJax would be scary. In my opinion anyways. Yeah he’s a head case but so are a lot of other players in the league. Childress is from the Reid coaching tree. He’ll know how to get the best out of Jackson. He’ll run close to the same system.
DJax may not be the most polished route runner or give the most effort when blocking but you give him the ball in space and he’ll make plays. Lots of teams can use that. Especially the Browns who have an utter lack of playmakers.
