Is the best defense a good offense?
How do you approach the first round? As I size up mock drafts, it looks like they either have the Bengals taking a guard and a running back in the first round or some combination of defensive picks addressing either the line or the secondary and throwing in a linebacker here and there. I think the top pick has to go CB unless Richardson falls to #17. After that, I would go with a WR followed by the best RB available in the second round with the intent of keeping our defense off the field. I figure we'll get a compensatory pick for Joseph, probably 3rd round, that would allow us to address the offensive and defensive lines. Love the idea of adding Nicks and Mario Williams in free agency....

I like your thought process
However, I would prefer to grab a vet WR in FA. Generally speaking, WR’s (not named AJ Green) take a year or two to adjust to the NFL game.
Top WR’s in the league and there rookie stats
Calvin Johnson 48 Rec., 756 yds., 4 TD’s
Andre Johnson 66 Rec., 956 yds., 4 TD’s
Larry Fitzgerald 58 Rec., 780 yds., 8 TD’s
Keep in mind these are by far the 3 most dominant WR’s in the NFL today and even they took a year or two to fully adjust to the NFL game
You are right about WR
They usually take 3 years to get in top form. I whoever really like Wright if Richardson and DeCastro are gone put would love to get Wayne for 2 years!!!
From everything I have read we won't be getting any comp picks for JJoe......
