IT'S TIME TO CRIPPLE THE PITTSBURGH STEELERS!
I teach my daughter to never use the word "hate" but this is football and I hate the Pittsburgh Steelers. I still remember the sting of having Carson Palmer wheeled off the field in a cart. Palmer was on his way to becoming an elite QB being compared along with Manning and Brady to come back a mere shell of himself. I remember Keith Rivers getting off to a good rookie year only to have Hines Ward take that away with an illegal blow to the face. What really pissed me off was Bill Cower in the visiting locker room chanting "who dey..........we they" over an hour while our starting QB might never play another down of football again...............................let me get to my point.
Whenever you have an elite WR with electric speed like Mike Wallace who can rip the top off any defense there is really no defense good enough to stop them if you have other weapons at the other skill positions. Big Ben is good but Mike Wallace is the mvp of their offense in the same way that Troy P is to the defense. Yes, I am comparing him to Troy P because for Pittsburgh he is that important. Pittsburgh was forced to switch their offense from smash mouth run the ball down your throat and there is nothing you can do about it to 3 and 4 WR because of Wallace and his game breaking ability. Because of Pittsburgh and their policies about signing their young studs early, there is a good chance they might lose Wallace. Pittsburgh is about 10-11 million over the cap and they have to make some moves. It's already out that Hines Ward will probably be cut and maybe Casey Hampton might be on the chopping block as well.
I know that we have a lot of holes on our team but if you add Mike Wallace to mix with our Pro Bowlers Green, Gresham and Dalton, you have a very young squad with dynamite at the skill positions like no other. Gresham and Shipley would have a field day on underneath routes. Who are you gonna double between Wallace and Green not to mention if you add a young RB to grow with the team. Signing Mike Wallace would cost a team their 1st round pick and of course it would take a boatload of money up front but this kid would be worth every dime. Pittsburgh can match any offer but if you front load the contract there is almost no way they can match due to their cap issues. They would have to cut some players they want to keep.
Not only due you add a top5 WR to play along with A.J. Green you weaken Pittsburgh and take away their best player on offense. I know that 1st rd picks are golden but these chances never come because teams lock their young talent up early so this can't happen. ( unless your mike brown who let joseph walk to houston and have a pro bowl year. )
Answer this question Bengal Nation, would you trade Mike Wallace for OT Nate Solder of the Patriots or Mike Wallace for DT Phil Taylor.......why do I ask this. Because These were the 2 players selected at 17 and 21 last year.

Me neither
It’s a great idea to make a bid to have them over pay and have to cut players but would only work to an extent. Their not wearing 6 rings for being the stupidest team in the NFl. They would let him walk before they had to make a major dent in their roster ( he’s not that good). You never know who we’ll get at 17 & 21, could be 2 perineal pro bowlers or 2 busts. He could get hurt in training camp and never be the same. I like our odds in the draft plus I hate the stealers and all their players. They can keep him.

Agree Steelers Would Never Let Him Go.
But having Green, Wallace, Shipley, and Gresham out there would be sweet. And as far as the draft goes, the Steelers got Wallace in the THIRD round. So the draft is a crap shoot.

Why cripple our picks and cap space to help the Steeler’s
I think your looking at this ass backwards
"A team is more than a group of individuals, its a group of individuals that come together to make a team"
???
because he turns us into a contending team immediately
...and the draft is a crapshoot. The odds don't increase towards the end of the first round either (21).
Would do in a heartbeat, but am not expecting us to even come close.

Its a Madden move
Getting Wallace in this situation,is something only done in video games
Taking Wallace from them isnt going to change their offense that much, and isnt going to be worth what we have
to give up.
Better not be getting high when it comes to LG,thats more important than a number 2 WR
"A team is more than a group of individuals, its a group of individuals that come together to make a team"
It would definitely change their offense
In fact… it would dramatically change their offense. We’ll see how open Antonio Brown gets without Wallace streaking down the other side.
lol, the old espn/lazy argument that Wallace is why Brown is open. That’s a myth, I promise you. Wallace wasn’t being double covered when Brown was converting 3rd and 22’s on you all day long. It was actually Brown being double covered, he still did fine.
Losing Wallace wouldn’t be as bad as you think.
Can I get some hot sauce for my doughnut?
Newsflash to Steelers fans
You are NOT invincible. I swear the argument of every Steelers fan is “we can replace any player with any other player.” When Roth goes down… you can replace him with Charlie Batch right?
You’re defense is getting very old… TICK TICK TICK
Who said invincible? That’s something you fabricated. I can tell you with relative certainty that will continue to field a competitive team, and won’t be waiting 20 years for a 9 win team. It’s not fans that say we can replace the players, it’s our history. I’m sorry that offends you.
No one said we can replace any player with any player. We can replace players like Hampton, Smith, and Farrior though. Polamalu probably won’t be replaced, and Woodley would be hard to replace further on down the road. If it will make you feel better, I’ll just say Wallace is so awesome and there is no way we’d replace him, losing him will put us in a tailspin in which we will never recover from. There, is that better? You can overrate Wallace’s value all you want, I actually watch the guy play (all 48 regular season games, and all four playoff games)
Not sure where you’d come up with the Charlie Batch thing though, no one with a brain would be comfortable with that move. However, if Leftwich wasn’t on IR, I would have been more than comfortable with that.
And ahhhh the “old defense” thing. 6 years now. One day you guys will be right, but this is now the 6th straight year we’ve heard that crap. The NFL rankings say they were just fine last year.
I don't get it, I've bought my wife a vacuum cleaner for Valentine's day four years in a row, and she still doesn't understand.......
just how much I love her
Contender is a relative word..
Or, by winning a large percentage of our games by come-from-behind heroics or last second flubs by the other team, are we really looking down the barrel of another sub .500 year were we join the 1/3 of playoff teams that don’t make it back? What would the Bengals history tell you? I think it’s time for new and aggressive thinking to take the next step and be a perennial contender, not just a flash in the pan
Even if we let Wallace go, we have a great group of receivers and an extra first round pick. Trust me, no one is going to cripple the Steelers any time soon.

as much as i hate the steelers
They are well ran. And I agree taking Wallace won’t do much because Antonio brown will just step in. But the fact that Harrison, farrior, Clark, troy p, Hampton, and Aaron smith, are all old, and can’t be around all that much longer, and you can’t replace all of them with people.of that caliber. Especially troy, who I think is what sets the Steelers d apart from just a good d.

At the time, the roster was stacked with guys like Chad and TO
Paul Brown Stadium, where everyone's hopes go to die.
Our roster was Chad, T.O., Shipley, Simpson, Caldwell, Cosby, and Briscoe.
Chad and T.O. were our 1a and 1b, Shipley was our shiny new rookie we spent a high pick on, Caldwell had some proven worth, and Cosby was our PR. It came down to betting on Simpson to make good on his potential and Briscoe.

Not really, I think that fans of teams like the ones I mentioned like to exaggerate things for their own reasons(not sure why exactly). I saw a comment once on DBN after the second Browns game that said “here come the trolls again”. Strange thing, no one from our site even went there after the first game. But, the “underdog” and “good guys” like to hype up the legend of the “evil” (i.e. winning) teams and their fans.
Any Steeler fan I’ve met in real life that wasn’t a kid was knowledgeable and a big fan of the game.

Harrison is kind of old, but hopefully he kept his body fresh all those years he wasn’t playing, or playing in the world league or whatever the hell it’s called. I would imagine that Hampton and Smith are gone, but they may have too much dead money on their contract to warrant cutting, who knows. Troy, in my estimation (best case scenario) has maybe 3 or 4 years left., Clark…who knows, he may kill himself on the field one day.

I love that argument
“Age was supposed to hurt us a while ago, and every year people think it will, but they are always wrong…” And the deduction would be that the Steelers are just never going to get old? It happens to everyone, and because so many have defied the odds for so long doesn’t mean that it will continue to happen. There were some cracks that showed this season, and things will start to get worse soon. There’s no escaping the effects of time, even if you are part of the “best run organization in the NFL”. Though maybe pounding your chest harder will help.
Try not to take the above message too seriously.

It would be nice to pick up a key Steelers FA
But not for a 1st rounder
Get Grubbs from Baltimore instead.
i agree
the draft is iffy id much rather put my money on a proven player
FOR THOSE THAT DON'T THINK MIKE WALLACE WOULD FIT OR IS NOT WORTH THE PICK OR WHATEVER..........
makes zero sense what so ever. Guys like Antonio Brown and the Saunders kid that Pittsburgh has put up numbers because Mike Wallace has to be doubled on just about every play. You can’t put that 8th man in the box because you need that S to shade over to wherever Wallace is. Their entire offense rotates around him because of the mismatches he creates. You put Antonio Brown as a number 1 anywhere in the NFL and he is not a 1,000 yd receiver. Brown is a better return specialist than WR. Speed kills in this league and right now we don’t have ANY.
The idea of having 2 first round picks is clouding your judgement. Look at the last 5 drafts and look at all the 1st round picks. You will find a whole lot of average to below average players. Look at St Louis who has had top 5 picks for the last 3-4 seasons and they have nothing to show for. Jason Smith was 2nd overall and is a bust, hell look at Sam Bradford who did not have a good year this year and was the number 1 overall pick. If it was not for the money owed Bradford the Rams would take a look at RG3.
You never know about the draft, it’s a complete crap shoot. Adding a legit 2nd receiver is a big hole just like OG, CB and RB. Mike Wallace would elevate everyone’s game for us and so what if it cost the 17th overall pick.
It’s past time for this team to make a splash in free agency. Sitting back and hoping that a Richardson or DeCastro slides to us is part of the reason why this team has not had back to back winning seasons under Mike Brown.
THIS TEAM NEEDS TO MAKE A BOLD MOVE THIS OFF SEASON AND PUT THE NFL ON ALERT THAT WE MEAN BUSINESS AND MIKE WALLACE DOES THAT AND IT ALSO TAKES AWAY THEIR BEST SKILL PLAYER. There is no way that Brown and Saunders put up the numbers they have in the past if Mike Wallace is not there.

we need to be active in FA
wouldn’t neccessarily agree with making a “splash”. Sometime the biggest name FA’s are system products and don’t necessarily fit your scheme. I think we need to be active, and focus on signing guys that will contribute for 2-3 years as starters while we replace them in the draft…Grubbs or Nicks would both be “splashes” and in that instance i’m all for it….other than that- lets just hope we sign solid/productive Team-First type guys
The Curse of Bo Jackson: Jan 13th,1991- present day
just not sure it will really cripple the steelers
they’re deep enough at wr and with the extra 1st round pick we’d give them, they’d just take another wr in the 1st or 2nd.
"the bengals are not a west of the 104 longitude team."
For the love of God, Wallace was not doubled on every play. Brown put up numbers because he’s really freaking good. Sanders and Saunders barely played. The entire offense does not rotate around him. The only benefit is that a safety has to stay on his side. You have no idea what would happen if Brown is put somewhere else, because this was his first season getting significant playing time. He is not a better return specialist, he actually wasn’t that good as a punt returner.
Where are you coming up with this crap?
You saw first hand what Brown can do to you as a receiver (you also saw the only time he did anything good on the return game in the second game with us, so I can see how you’d think that)
Can I get some hot sauce for my doughnut?

The Curse of Bo Jackson: Jan 13th,1991- present day
What? I’m aware of how he made the pro-bowl, and I would never try to use pro-bowls to prove a point. Didn’t Dalton make it this year? Cassell last year? Ray Lewis and Ed Reed this year? It’s not quite as big of a joke as the NBA’s, but it’s close.

It's not that he's not worth the pick
I agree that he is. But it’s more complex than that. They are in this mess because of salary cap problems. Taking Wallace would certainly take a big chunk of projected cap space off of their hands. It would give them a free out, as they can draft a young player for much cheaper, and possibly one that fills a bigger need (such as defensive help or offensive line). I know you think Wallace is the be all end all on that team, but their success is predicated on defence and being more physical than the other team. Things could change, but not with this coaching regime. If we take a WR off of thier hands, they get to choose who to replace him with.
As tempting as it is to want to really stick it to them, stepping back and watching them suffocate themselves is really the smart approach.
Try not to take the above message too seriously.
Agree 100%
I believe that the NFL is evolving into a 3 "number one" receiver league (whomever they may be – TE, RB, WR). To get the most out of AJ and Dalton, we need a serious threat opposite our stud. I vote for Wallace from the Steelers. Taking him from the already unsettled and aging offense (OC change, Roth unrest) makes the Bengals stronger and the Steelers weaker when it counts most, the 2-3 times a year they play each other (possible playoff matchup). The Steelers may get a first round draft pick out of it but it is still worth it. Without Wallace their whole offense collapses and becomes one-dimensional. They will have no ability to stretch the field and it may take years to develop a new alternative, if they can find one at all. Just think what that speed opposite AJ’s height/reach and shpley and our TE’s toughness would mean for the offense. And get Nicks to round it off (he’ll make Smith better as well)
actually....
dalton had plenty of time almost te entire o line had a positive grade in pass locking last year sorry to break it to yu but the only help we need is on the run we need big hogs to push the pile but we can pass protect pretty damn good and a year with coaches and an actual offseason will do nothing but improve everybody i say get wallace pik up a corner in the draft and adrress guard in free agency

your grading system is flawed
Andy Dalton is why those pass blocking grades you refer to look so positive
Andy’s mobility created those grades, allow Andy the time to stand in the pocket like Brady,Manning!!

Actually we do have a fairly good pass-blocking line.
It’s just run-blocking that we suck at.

We have a deep threat
His name is AJ Green. How does a RFA work? Do they already have a contract in place or do they have to give them a new one but leave the option for other teams to bid? What ever it is why can’t we just barely out bid it making them overpay. Then they have to cut more players. IMO they have good backup WR and would rather have the draft picks to help replace the old ass men they havr a defense.

The best thing we could do is get a running game to free up AJ and the other receivers. A #2 isn’t going to help as much as a stud RB.

i could see this happening
One thing you can count on from Mike Brown, he loves big play WRs. He always wants bigtime receivers and more than one at a time… see Pickens, Scott, Warrick, Ocho, Housh, Henry, AJ Green, LColes, TO, Antonio Bryant… I could see them trying to get Wallace , don’t think it would cripple the Steelers but it would help us for sure. I’m all for it. They’d still have the 17th pick. They need to start spending money on free agents now so they’re not scrambling to meet the 90% floor next season. They could easily get Wallace, Grubbs/Nicks and a CB with $60 million in cap space

They would get the 21st pick
As that is the “Bengals” first round pick.
Try not to take the above message too seriously.
Well, it’s unlikely Decastro will make it to 17, so the first round could likely be a corner and a rb. RBs can be found in any round, so 21 is as much of a luxury pick as anything, so why not get rid of it for a proven player that would take away from an opponents offense. Guards can also be drafted in later rounds and still be very good players, and I imagine if we can keep Collins to play somewhere more he’ll be solid, as well as giving Clint Boling a full offseason to bulk up and be ready to play this year.
I like the idea of Wallace and I wouldn’t complain if it did happen, but I doubt that it will happen.
with an illegal blow to the face.
Apparently you saw a different play than the rest of the world, there was nothing illegal about that blow at all. You should thank Hines though, he showed you guys how soft Rivers was. Otherwise this season would have been a surprise.
Palmer was on his way to becoming an elite QB being compared along with Manning and Brady
Lol, you’re stretching that quite a bit wouldn’t you say? He had one good season, granted, out of two, but still. Why do you guys ignore the fact that it was your offensive lineman’s fault that it happened? Tom Brady had the same injury, he managed to come back just fine.
Mike Wallace is the mvp of their offense in the same way that Troy P is to the defense
Translates to “I haven’t actually watched the Steelers much, but in the one game I did watch, Wallace played OK.” He would probably finish somewhere around third or fourth in the MVP voting on offense. (Ben, Brown, Miller, then him)
Can I get some hot sauce for my doughnut?

Is it just me or does anyone else hate having shittsburg fans on here blowing their little bragging type comments right in your face. I hate that team and their fans!

No, he didn’t try anything. He got blocked while he was looking the other way. Did he get up and cry about it? No, he leaves that up to players like Ed Reed and Rivers. You have to be the most pathetic little puss in the world to cry about an offensive player laying your ass out.
Is it just me or does anyone else hate having shittsburg fans on here blowing their little bragging type comments right in your face
You should see what “bragging” means. No one is bragging or “blowing” anything in your face. It’s an internet forum.

Who you calling a pathetic puss
And Ward did try to cheap shot a Balt defensive player while his back was turned and the guy saw him before Ward got the chance and laid his ass out. You shouldn’t call people pathetic pusses on an open forum it’s uncalled for and can get you kicked off here.

Keith Rivers and Ed Reed.

No, that is your imagination. The video is on Youtube. There were no Baltimore players on the right side of the field, Ward was running his route, and turned his head to look toward Ben to see what he’s doing.
You shouldn’t call people pathetic pusses
I honestly can’t figure out how you would possibly think I was talking about anyone on this board with that comment. Did you bother reading the line before it, or were your eyes just magnetically drawn to the word puss?

I was talking about the first Balt//Pitt
Game from this yr. When Ward tried his same old dirty tactics after an INT by buttburgler. NGati or however you spell it laid his ass out. Youtube that and tell me I’m wrong.

Yes, that is the game I am talking about. You are imagining what happened, I promise. There was one Baltimore player between Ward and the sideline, and that’s the guy that hit him. You are imagining the “dirty tactics” because that’s what you have trained your brain to do. This is common among fans of teams that don’t win much. (not making fun of your team, just pointing the very real fact that it’s always fans of those teams that do the “he’s dirty” crying)
Whatever you are talking about didn’t happen, Ward was hit once in that game, by Jarrett Johnson while Ben still had the ball in his hands (which made that a penalty that wasn’t called, but only the Steelers get away with things). The interception happened with Ward already on the ground sir.
So…..you’re wrong.

In case you don’t remember, both of those players were whining and crying to the media after getting knocked out by an offensive player. For a defensive player, who gets off on inflicting pain, and putting bounties on players like Reed and Rivers do, to cry about getting knocked out, what else are you going to call it? They are pathetic pusses for that.

If it’s a Steeler that made the hit it’s legal… if it’s a Steeler that got hit, it’s illegal. We’ve been over this before.

No, if the rules say it’s illegal, it’s illegal. Not sure how there can be any confusion.
They made it illegal after the fact. So were the Patriots always committing pass interference before they changed the five yard rule? To they get applied retroactively or something?

Right, well thanks Dr. I don’t really care what you think about what is cheap. People like you whine about it all the time, and I find it sad and pathetic. However, you conveniently forget that your team (or any team for that matter) is guilty of doing a lot of cheap things. However, those guys don’t stomp your team twice a year, so it’s different. They play for your team, so it’s different. And don’t even get me started on the Bengals fans who have the nerve to talk shit about off the field issues.
Hines Ward took a cheap hit from Lewis that seemed intentional this year, and rung his bell. I would feel pathetic if I went around crying about it for the next three years (or however long it’s been since Ward welcomed Rivers to the NFL). I let it go right after it happened, because it’s a violent game, and things happen quickly.
In a manly game, what happened to Rivers is known as a lesson. In the world of whiners, it’s dirty and cheap.

Yes we have, I actually state relevant information, you post “LOL fantasy land blah blah blah” and never actually back up anything you say.
You cry about “dirty” players, then it’s pointed out to you that your team has dirty players too, but that’s somehow different. Your answer to that I’m a “guilty party” which is stupid because I don’t play on the field, but even dumber you saying that is you thinking that it was somehow a justification for what YOU consider dirty. Any common sense using person would realize it’s just to point out your hypocrisy. You cry about “dirty” players, then you gotta cry about it all the time, no matter what uniform they wear. But I know that’s too much to ask, because the reality is you are tired of seeing the Steelers destroy your team, so saying things like “they’re dirty” makes you feel better, it’s easier to accept. Just like “they cheat” or dey payz da refzz. hurpdederrrp"
So, either dispute or refute something, or just keep to yourself. Your “welcome to franks fantasy land” is only slightly less pathetic than your whining about your LB getting his ass laid out because he wasn’t paying attention.

You are funny with a completely wrong view of me
You know nothing about me except what we have discussed on here, yet you figured me out.
Now you on the other hand show 2 similar hits and call one dirty and one not dirty. The not dirty one is the Steeler hitting RIvers, the dirty one is surprise, a Raven hitting a Steeler. News Flash pal, THEY ARE BOTH DIRTY.
You want to talk about pathetic, it’s your simple minded homerism that you display over here on this subject. Most other subjects you are pretty objective. But on this you are a homer. That is not relevant information.
And I don’t confine my “hey that’s dirty” to the Steelers. You nor they are that important to me. Take a step back and look at the hurpdederrrp that is you before you claim to know anything about anyone else.

Now you on the other hand show 2 similar hits and call one dirty and one not dirty. The not dirty one is the Steeler hitting RIvers, the dirty one is surprise, a Raven hitting a Steeler. News Flash pal, THEY ARE BOTH DIRTY.
Wait a minute, when did this happen? I said cheap, and it looked intentional. But since I would never claim to know a players intentions, or make snap judgements because I have the benefit of slow motion replay, I wouldn’t call it dirty. It’s something that happened in a football game, I couldn’t imagine getting emotional about it, even if it is my receiver out there.
You saying “simple minded homerism” should be translated to “you better agree with me, or I’m going to call you out”. I don’t think it’s dirty because it’s not dirty, not because Hines plays for us. I didn’t think what Dunta Robinson did last year was dirty either. I didn’t think what Suh did to Cutler or Dalton was dirty. I think whiny little girls have too much of a voice and they got their claws in to you. I’m sorry, that’s just sad. You aren’t affected by the player getting hurt, and they know what they signed up for.
You can not say that the Rivers hit didn’t happen because A) he wasn’t paying attention when he should have been and B) he ducked his head. That’s what happens. You are only complaining about the result, not the play. If the exact same play occurred but Rivers pulled his vagina up off the field and continued, you wouldn’t think twice about it.
And again, I’m only going off of what you show me, and I’ve seen enough to get a good idea

1983
Monday Night Football game 6.
Anderson carted off the field, they were afraid he had a broken neck. A penalty was called. Gary was fined for the hit. But he was not ejected, which he should have been (would have been in today’s NFL)
That play essentially ended a two year playoff run for the Bengals (the 1983 team actually had a very good defense, with a healthy Anderson maybe they’d have made it three playoffs in a row)

Ah…Keith Gary….I had pushed him from my memory banks.
Yeah, he should probably be ejected for something like that. I can’t find the video, I’d like to see the whole play.
Oh wait…I think I’m supposed to justify that….and since there is no way I could actually just think a play wasn’t dirty because I don’t think it was dirty, and it has to be based on the uniform….Ummm…Gary wasn’t doing anything wrong there…..

Keith Rivers is a non-factor
The Bengals have about 30 years worth of drafting not special linebackers, Rivers is one of the more recent examples. Regardless of what happened with Ward, he’s just not that good.
If there is one specific item other than Mike Brown’s generic cluelessness that defines the Bengals misery, it’s that in the history of the franchise they have spent more of their top draft picks (I mean rounds one thru three) on linebackers than on any other position, and to show for that they have a grand total of two seasons where a Bengals LB was a Pro Bowler… the last of which occurred when Gerald Ford was President. In terms of a single franchise’s futility with a single position, that has to rank up there in the top of the league!
Attention Mike Brown: One-and-done doesn’t cut it. You will see more empty seats next year if you don’t show the fans you’re trying to win the Super Bowl!

I think we had
Tekeo Spikes (I know its which is just one LB). Which I don’t think he ever made the pro bowl with us. But Spikes was special and could’ve been a PBer if he had a better team around him.
This franchise has ruined a bunch of potential PB players in the 90’s.. Being Bengalized is what it’s called, right?

I live in TX and go to a sports bar every Sunday during the season. There’s quite a few steeler fans there and I got into a conversation with a few about some of their teams history. I knew more about their team than they did! It was just as I though most of them had just jumped on the best team at the time with the guy knowing the most only being able to go back as far as 05.

You’re really rooting for the wrong team. You’d fit in much better with the Browns fans. That way you can get together and talk about all the horrible people that root for teams who happen to win. Then you can cheer serious injuries, and get way more pleasure out of another team losing than you do when your team wins. Sound good? You could even claim to have won more NFL championships even though four of them were in the AAFC.
I’m glad your “all encompassing” Steeler fan assessment has reached as far as “a sports bar in TX” You should get your case study published.

well I think we all know, not every single fan isn’t a bandwagon. But it just comes with the territory. I should have added Pats fan to my statement as well.
I had a pretty bad expierence with a person who was a “fan” of the patriots. He couldn’t name all the staters at the time or knew anything about the teams history. But he sure did know how many super bowls they had won.
It would tear me up in sided, if I was a dedicated Steelers, Cowboys, or even a Patriots to know that people are only supporting a team because the are winning at the time and will jump ship later. Because Im sure you guys get a lot of them.

That does bother me for two reasons. 1) the more of them there are, the more I have to be accused of being one wherever I go. 2) While we haven’t really had a “dark” period since I’ve been alive, the 80’s were generally shitty, and by the time I was 12 I was convinced I was never going to see them win it all.
But at the end of the day, people can do what they wish, but the thing is, those guys are usually the most obnoxious about it. “6 rings, how many you got? herpederp”

its like every year we get our hopes up and see the promise in the team and somehow it back fires on us. if we’re aggressive with our picks and money to spend, we should be really set to make a deep run next year OR we can not spend much, make some questionable picks and slip back to mediocrity. Things are on an upswing, so I’m hoping option #1!

It is unreal how much of an effect that stuff has on a metropolitan area. It’s like new life.
The one thing I worry about, is that Cincy people’s hate for Brown seems to trump their love for the Bengals, and their desire to cheer their team on. And it’s totally understandable. He’s been ripping your hearts out for a long time, but it at least seems as if he’s trying to change now.

Where would someone find these odds? Can you link them? The Colts were 14-2 that year, and only lost games when they had the number 1 seed locked up. The Broncos came in winning their last 4 games and 8 of their last 9. The Bengals came in to the playoffs on a two game losing streak that cost them a first round bye. I’m not sure how you could think they were the favorite. Even the Jaguars were considered a stronger team at that point.

I wouldn’t call anything I’ve done a personal shot, but if you feel that way, there’s nothing I can do about it. However “ass hat trolls” could certainly be considered a personal shot.
It almost seems as though that was another one of those pre-programmed Steeler fan responses, and no matter what was said, you’d have drawn the same conclusion. Observations aren’t personal attacks, and what you’ve seen at a Texas bar isn’t a representation of an entire fan base. What do you want from me? Having that much hatred for people you know nothing about is unhealthy, and when the cause is because the team is more successful than yours, that’s just bitterness/sour grapes.
I’m glad you got to get what you had to say in, but then followed it with “but I’m not going to say that”
I’m not going to do a roll call to see who values or gives a damn, but I do know and interact with several people on here, and you and one other guy are really the only ones that makes problems.
