Rod Woodson

Cincinnati Bengals coach Marvin Lewis told the Cincinnati Enquirer that he has no set timetable for filling the team's vacant coaching position in the secondary after Kevin Coyle was named defensive coordiantor of the Miami Dolphins.

But he did say he would entertain the possibility of Rod Woodson being a candidate for the job.

Woodson and Lewis go back to the days when Woodson was an All-Pro defensive back with the Steelers and Lewis was an assistant on the staff. It was Lewis who helped recruit Woodson to division rival Baltimore, where they won a Super Bowl together in 2000.

Woodson was a coaching intern with the Bengals in 2010 and spent last season coaching cornerbacks in Oakland.

Anybody know why Oak let jim go?

Just curious. I know they we’re showing everyone the door out there but they usually let the new HC make that decision. With a nee HC most of the time they let him bring in his own guys and they fired RW before they hired a guy. Just think Oak has finally got a GM. Will it take our old man dyeing before we get one? Lol

I would almost trade a draft pick for him. Getting him would have the same impact

as another 1st round pick. Ghee and Mays would really benefit from his experience. I was a vid of him working with a group of D backs and they were glued to his every word. If we can get him and we don’t that would be as big of a mistake as blowing a 1st round pick IMO.

Why Trade?

Woodson’s out of a job. No need to trade. Just have to hire him and trust he has enough experience to do the job.
