Bengal4ever 5 Round Mock

Direction i believe we should take in the draft.

Free Agency would require signing a Running Back

1ST RD-Dre Kirkpatrick-CB-Alabama (Starting #2 CB)

1ST RD-Mark Barron-SS-Alabama (Starting SS)

2ND RD-Amini Silatolu-OG-Midwestern State (Starting OG)

3RD RD-Alameda Ta'Amu-DT-Washington (Peko replacement. If he fell this far)

4TH RD-Marvin Jones-WR-California (Could be our #2 Receiver)

5TH RD-Marquis Maze-KR-Alabama (We could use this guy as a kickoff returner. & surely we aren't planning on keeping Brandon Tate)

I strongly beleieve if our draft went this way, Every one of these guy's would have a role somewhere starting.

Hahaha Marvin Jones was my Suggestion LOL jk

well i kinda love the pick except for Minnifield, im not hating but everytime i see his play i kinda scream because of the PI’s

Jenkins

I don’t like Jenkins to well he’s small, & there something about his coverage that he lacks. To me i wouldn’t use a 1st on him. He seems like he would just be an average reliable cb instead of a dominant CB. Someone like PacMan that would be a good rotational CB.

He plays off the guy, plays loose zone coverage. No press or jamming the reciever at the line…not a sure tackler, and plays timid.

by Bengal4ever on Feb 7, 2012 12:49 PM EST up reply actions

I guess you havent seen him in the in the Senior Bowl Practices and him while he was at Florida??

The guy can jam WR’s when he’s told too, and you are pretty right on his tackling skills but Zimmer will clean those Fundamentals mistakes up

by Touhue Cha on Feb 7, 2012 2:55 PM EST up reply actions

Jones has some skill

& Minnifield shows good coverage, i think he’ll be pretty good.

Martin should go in the 2nd; do

2. Martin
3. Derek Wolfe
4. B.J. Cunningham

Paul Brown Stadium, where everyone's hopes go to die.

&

Wolfe is decent but not the greatest, & i’m not really feeling Cunningham

by Bengal4ever on Feb 6, 2012 9:23 PM EST up reply actions

How about Marvin McNutt?

Paul Brown Stadium, where everyone's hopes go to die.

by DTFCPDX on Feb 6, 2012 10:32 PM EST up reply actions

I’m watched some film on McNutt. He looks alright, but doesn’t display the athletic ability like Jones does..I think McNutt would be on somones depth chart but he wouldn’t be an immediate starter..i’d give him a grade of c+

Maybe Ryan Broyles drops because of injury?

Paul Brown Stadium, where everyone's hopes go to die.

I like Broyles

I think he’ll be a good slot guy in the league somewhere.

by Bengal4ever on Feb 7, 2012 1:38 PM EST up reply actions

Unrealistic imo

Martin, Ta’amu and Jones will all be 2nd round picks. We’d be lucky to get just one. Also, I don’t love Minnefield in round one. Ge wouldn’t walk in as a day one starter.

Where are you seeing Jones as a 2nd?

He is rated as a solid 4th rounder on CBS sports, Ta’amu is rated as a 3rd so how is it really unrealistic? Hopeful maybe but far from unrealistic.

Agree with you on Minnefield though not a fan of his.

by BobJones4980 on Feb 6, 2012 11:53 PM EST up reply actions

Not unrealistic

Martin is a 2nd rounder, Marvin Jones was rated as a 6th round pick, but moved up as 4th round pick, unless your saying his stock would improve aftert the combine, & the only unrealistic one would have to be Ta’Amu in the 3rd.

by Bengal4ever on Feb 7, 2012 8:17 AM EST up reply actions

Minnifield or Kirkpatrick

Those are the only 2 guys worthy of a 1st round pick, Jenkins and Gilmore don’t have what it takes to be a 1st rounder, & i wouldnt take Alfonso Dennard with a 3rd round pick.

Free Agency

Ted Ginn, Shawn Andrews

I think there's a good chance he'll fall to us in the 2nd.

Just depends on what teams like which runnng backs. Richardson, Miller, Polk, Wilson all have a chance and probably will go before Martin.

by Luke on Feb 7, 2012 11:34 AM EST up reply actions

That's what i'm sayin..

It all just depends on who wants a RB, i think Miller will fall to the 2nd, same with Polk & Wilson..& there’s teams out there that have other needs than a RB…so it’s not like it’s off the wall to say Martin won’t fall to us…It’s a strong possibility.

by Bengal4ever on Feb 7, 2012 11:38 AM EST up reply actions

There's a good chance they'll at least have a shot at drafting him in the 2nd.

I think we’ve been overrating his value in the draft because he’s been talked about a lot on this board. I’ve seen him go as high as 21 in mocks and as low as the middle of the third.

by Animal_Like_Football on Feb 7, 2012 2:18 PM EST up reply actions

If your talking about Doug Martin i agree, i think he’ll go anywhere between mid 2nd to early 3rd.

by Bengal4ever on Feb 7, 2012 2:32 PM EST up reply actions

Yeah. Doug Martin.

I was responding to AMAS’s comment that he doesn’t think he’ll be available in the second.

Jeff Demps said he isn't entering the NFL, he's doing the Olympics.

Draft his counterpart Chris Rainey instead.

Paul Brown Stadium, where everyone's hopes go to die.

by DTFCPDX on Feb 7, 2012 6:29 PM EST reply actions

i'd like to have either one, Demps or Rainey

but we’d have to use a 3rd or 4th for Rainey..i’d hate to use an early pick on him, i’d rather have LaMicheal James.

by Bengal4ever on Feb 7, 2012 8:05 PM EST up reply actions

Changed up my mock a little bit

1st RD-Dre Kirkpatrick-CB
1st RD-Mark Barron-SS
2nd RD-Amini Silatolu-OG
3rd RD-Alameda Ta'Amu-DT
4th RD-Marvin Jones-WR
5th RD-Marquis Maze-KR

FA: RB
