2012 NFL Free Agency: Chargers Agree To Terms With Robert Meachem

Well, that was fast. Robert Meachem visited with the Buffalo Bills tonight and then signed with the San Diego Chargers the same night. It is reportedly a four year contract. The Chargers had to move quickly to attempt to replace the recently departed Vincent Jackson. Meachem gives Phillip Rivers another big target. He should fit in well with Malcom Floyd and Vincent Brown.

With Meachem off the market, the Bengals search for a number two receiver opposite Green will get interesting. There was not much news on Mario Manningham on the first day of free agency, could this be because he wants to be paid like a number one receiver? If the Bengals do not go after Manningham, get ready for the possibility of a Braylon Edwards. A more likely option could be the Bengals targeting Notre Dame receiver Michael Floyd or Baylor receiver Kendall Wright in the first round. They could then focus on other needs in free agency.
