According to ESPN NFL Insider Adam Schefter, there are three teams that have been in talks with New York Giants wide receiver Mario Manningham, and the Bengals are not one of them.
Three teams having early conversations with Giants free-agent WR Mario Manningham: SF, MIA, BUF.
Manningham, who was one of the main reasons the Giants won Super Bowl XLVI, is looking to be a No. 1 receiver and with Hakeem Nicks and Victor Cruz in New York, that's not going to happen with the Giants. Many thought that Manningham would be a good fit in Cincinnati, where he would replace Jerome Simpson as the No. 2 receiver and play opposite of A.J. Green, but it would appear that the Bengals aren't interested.
There are still plenty of free agent wide receivers to be had and there are more in the draft as well. The Bengals don't have to go all out on a guy like Manningham to find a more consistent No. 2 receiver.
