A little break from the constant free agency talk here, as RB David Wilson is reported to have a scheduled private workout with the Bengals, according to Virginia Tech football beat writer Andy Bitter:

The 5'9", 206-pound Wilson is among the top 4 runningbacks of this year's draft class, and is generally considered to be in the second tier (first is Trent Richardson, alone) along with Boise State's Doug Martin and Miami's Lamar Miller.

These three RBs are generally projected to go somewhere in the late first or second round, and WIlson didn't do anything spectacular in the combine to improve his draft spot. Despite his position-best performances in the broad jump and vertical jump, where he won by a landslide in both, Wilson's sprint and cone drills were merely above average. However, he reportedly ran faster at Virginia Tech's pro day (4.35-4.40 in the 40-yd dash).

Bengals RB Coach Jim Anderson ran RB drills at the VT pro day, which we reported yesterday.

It's clear that the Bengals have their eyes on Wilson for the time being. Wilson could be targeted in the first round at #17 or #21, though unlikely, or could fall late in the second round to #53.
