According to ESPN's Adam Schefter, the Tennessee Titans have used their franchise tag on safety Michael Griffin to keep in on the team for at least one more season, which means cornerback Cortland Finnegan is likely to become a free agent on March 13.
Titans placed their franchise tag on safety Michael Griffin, not cornerback Cortland Finnegan.
Finnegan, along with the Chiefs' Brandon Carr, is considered one of the top cornerbacks to hit free agency when the 2012 league year begins in a little over a week. The Bengals have been linked to Finnegan as they need a cornerback and they have the money to spend in free agency to improve themselves. However, spending a load of money on top-tier free agents, especially when they have two first-round draft picks to use, has never been their style. I would love to be proven wrong, though.
Would you be a fan of seeing Finnegan frustrate wide receivers while wearing stripes?
