I'm sure most people here are very well aware of the want of a solid number 2 wideout. Someone who won't cost an arm and leg and won't take years upon years to develop preferably. I think i might have found an answer. Instead of gambling on the draft with someone who may take a long time to develop, what if we stole FA Early Doucet from the Cardinals.
He's worked with Larry, so he is obviously used to the number 2 role, and is unlikely to command a large amount of money to get. The first few years were very unproductive, however he appears to be developing nicely with 54 catches last season. I think that with Hue Jackson back, we could turn him into a truly productive number 2 to pair with Green and Shipley, and turn the passing attack into something greater. With the right numbers and a team more complete than his previous Cardinals, we might just snag the Early bird and have the worm to ourselves.
