Last year Bengals linebacker Keith Rivers showed up at training camp having undergone a major procedure in which one person within the organization called "a rebuilding of his wrist". Eventually Rivers was placed on season-ending Injured Reserve, missing the entire season.
When asked about a Rivers update, Joe Reedy with the Cincinnati Enquirer tweeted:
RT @acmazzaro: @joereedy ? I have not been able to locate answer to: how did Rivers get hurt?>Degenerative wrist condition, not one thing
Soon after Rivers disputed, tweeting:
@joereedy do not report things that are false joe
Yet Rivers didn't offer much in the way of an actual explanation or update, and for all we know what Reedy said is closer to the truth. Either way it might not even matter due to suspicions that Cincinnati's former first-round pick from the 2008 NFL Draft may have already played his final game, a possible salary cap casualty or more likely an eventual recipient with an injury settlement (if he's eligible).
