Here are some draft options that could result from what Rivers has given us.
...If it gets us Gilmore, Kuechly/DeCastro, Martin by trading up the board in the second round. Think swap 2nd's add a 5th and 6th and get the Colts' 34th (2nd) pick or the Vikings' 36th (4th) pick. With that ammo we could take Doug Martin from Boise State or Stephon Hill if he slips to that spot, which is not entirely likely.
The new first round trend is going to be QB's (obviosly), CB's, WR's, all OL's and DL's. The fact of the matter is clearly a brand of football which is primarily the ability to pass and score effectively and the ability to defend the pass first. All of what is listed are the key players in our new NFL and top 2% talent is what drives the draftboards.
Marvin has been ahead of the curve for years on this. He covets the most talented DB's, OL and DL in the draft. Other than the Perry and Rivers debacles, Marvin goes for the aforementioned positions early. Gresham supports this as an (under-used) attack option just at the TE designation.
