Key roles for our rookies

1 (17)

Dre Kirkpatrick, CB, Alabama

Dre in my opinion was a top 10 talent that fell becasue of off field issues and he will make a huge impact for years to come on the Bengals. I believe he will start in our nickle package or even beat out one of the vets.

Kevin Zeitler, G, Wisconsin

Plugged into the starting role as our new R-guard.. I'm really looking forward to him and Andre Smith plowing some huge holes for our running back(s).

2 (53)

Devon Still, DT, Penn State

The talent and the depth of our defensive line is unreal and I just cant wait to see how they work together as a unit. Still is an upgrade over Peko on talent and with time he will replace him full time. Lots of playing time his rookie year.

3 (83)

Mohamed Sanu, WR, Rutgers

Im actually very excited about the Sanu pick up! The NFL just lost one of the most physical and feared blocking WR's with the retirement of Hines Ward. I think Sanu is a bigger, stronger and faster version of a young Hines Ward.. I also think he will be our new starting slot WR.

3 (93)

Brandon Thompson, DT, Clemson

Again... Great depth and long term replacement for Pat Simms.. Also a huge value pick in the 3rd that will also see plenty of snaps in our D-line rotation.

4 (116)

Orson Charles, TE, Georgia

Maybe its just me, but I actually see Orson Charles as a Fullback/H-back.. Could you imagine that? Defenses would have nightmares about matching up with our new look offense! Orson should start as our 2nd TE or in my mind our starting FB/H-back.

5 (156)

Shaun Prater, CB, Iowa

Depth but looking at a hard time making our roster unless its on special teams or the practice squad..

5 (166)

Marvin Jones, WR, California

Marvin "Lewis" Jones will more than likely come out of training camp as our new #2 Wr.. I can't believe he fell to us, but I'm pleased to have him on our team.

5 (167)

George Iloka, FS, Boise State

Here is a carbon copy of Taylor Mays, just a little slower. This kid will be a great contributor to our defense but for the first couple years he's going to make his name on special teams!

6 (191)

Dan Herron, RB, Ohio State

Totally unhappy with this pick. This is the only pick I can say that about in this entire draft. I wish they would have picked up Chris Polk out of Washington! If he needed time to heal he could have started the year on PUP.

Long story short. I believe 7 out of our 10 picks will play a significant role on our team this year either in a starting role or key rotational play.
