We're taking a brief look at every position this weekend, breaking down the roster at this point in the offseason.

Position Report: Full Back
Roster (2): Chris Pressley, James Develin

Our first impression of Chris Pressley during HBO's Hard Knocks in 2009, was as an intelligent-sounding young man who followed his son around when the team wasn't practicing. He was a cinderella story, a fan-favorite, an undrafted free agent, fighting for a spot against proven veteran Jeremi Johnson and seventh-round rookie Fui Vakapuna.

Though he didn't make the cut, Pressley joined Cincinnati's practice squad the day after final cuts. Tampa Bay signed Pressley to their 53-man roster several weeks later, securing him for the rest of 2009. The Buccaneers eventually waived him the following year and the Bengals plucked him back onto their practice squad before promoting him onto the team's 53-man roster on December 10, 2010, where he's been since.

Last year was Pressley's break-out season, so to speak. He was the lead-blocker during two-back formations, starting ten games and playing 15 -- missed the game against St. Louis due to a knee injury. According to Pro Football Focus' grading system, Pressley scored a positive mark as a run blocker, a pass blocker and in the passing game.

And the dude can squat your house.

Draft Projection: Before Chris Pressley signed a two-year deal, it would have been reasonable conjecture for Cincinnati selecting a fullback during the late rounds of the draft. Frankly we'd say the same thing with any scenario -- not specific to Pressley or fullback. We're not one's to shut down a conversation by saying "no chance". But really. There's no chance. Does that mean Cincinnati won't sign an undrafted free agent? No. There's always that chance, especially if they find someone that could replace James Develin on the practice squad.
