It took some time but the Cincinnati Bengals finally secured a one-year deal with Pat Sims back on March 24, bringing the rock band of Sims, Geno Atkins and Domata Peko back together for a defensive tackle encore. However some of us are more enthusiastic than others about the contract that Sims actually signed.

According to the contract details on his Roto World page, Sims's one-year deal includes a $700,000 base salary, with a $250,000 signing bonus, a workout bonus worth $250,000 and a roster bonus for another $240,000. When you factor all of the bonuses into his base salary and Sims' cap number reaches $1.44 million.

This gives the Bengals a combined base salary of $4.9 million at defensive tackle with Peko scheduled to earn $3.175 million in 2012 and a rough (determined on the facts we've been given) cap hit of $4.4 million.

Sims is entering his fifth season with the Bengals after being selected in the third-round of the 2008 NFL Draft out of Auburn.
