I just don't understand... One down year in a brand new offense and everyone here thinks he's worse than Cedric Benson! Even worse, it seems like nobody thinks he even deserves a spot on our roster! Come on guys... He will be on our 2012 roster.
I understand that his 3.4 yards per carry on the season was incredibly underwhelming, but how many times last year did Scott get the hand off last year just to be lit up behind or at the line of scrimmage with no chance of making a play? Gruden is moving us to a true running back by committee and with the increased carries Scott still has the potential to be a major contributor on offense this season.
Just look at Scott's performance against Baltimore and Pittsburgh last year:
He flat out produced against our two biggest rivals and two of the stiffest run defenses in the league. Where he struggled was against teams with much less vaunted defenses, but if he can do it against Pittsburgh and Baltimore then he can do it against everyone else.
Now that we have addressed our offensive line issues and Jay Gruden has had a full off-season to come up with ways to use Scott more efficiently (not to mention the fact that it's a contract year for him), I think we can expect big things from B. Scott this year.
