Since Greg Cosell felt it necessary to temper perceptions on Andy Dalton (did he seriously change one mind this week?), we decided to have a little fun with an old quarterback scouting report written by our Joe Goodberry last year. The comments are equally entertaining. And during a poll that asked which quarterback Bengals fans would prefer, Andy Dalton only received 22 percent of the vote with Christian Ponder being easily the favorite.
During his quarterback scouting report last year, Goodberry concluded with a mid-second round to fourth round projection:
Some people like him, some don't. I think it comes down to how much potential you think he has. I agree that it may be limited, but I think there's enough reason to think he can be a better pro quarterback. Work with his feet, get him stronger, work on pocket awareness and get him into a system that works for his skills. I think Dalton can be your starting QB in a year or two.
