An idea to improve the ProBowl

Stay connected for news and updates

It is common knowledge that the ProBowl is a snooze fest and it needs a shot in the arm. The result of the game is meaningless and as a result the players, many of whom don't show up at all, just go thru the motions and the play is sluggish. It is in reality just a vacation reward for those selected and that is okay with me I suppose, but.....

Maybe things would change if the league gave the players some incentive. Not a huge one but one of some impact. A couple of thoughts would be to give all teams in the winning conference an additional player on the roster allowing them to keep that 7th WR or CB the next year or maybe allowing them to protect a player on the PS. We wouldn't have to worry about whether we need to cut, say, Hawkins or Binns for example. We might be able to keep both Boom and Peerman.

It isn't a huge benefit but one that might make a difference. If the losing conference has a disadvantage here for a year maybe they better make sure their PB players go out and play ball like it matters. Yea, I would keep some of the safety rules on hits and such in place to do what is possible to limit injuries but not limit competition. Maybe you guys can think of something else. What else is there to talk about in this football drought time of year?
