It would appear that Chad Ochocinco's chances of joining the Miami Dolphins are more than some professional athlete pipe dream about playing for the hometown team. According to Jason La Canfora with CBSSports.com, Miami Dolphins head coach Joe Philbin confirmed "interest" in the veteran receiver, with La Canfora adding that he figures that the Dolphins will "sign him this week."
When asked about it, the Dolphins head coach told reporters on Monday, "We're doing our homework." However after concluding his workout with the Dophins, Ochocinco departed Miami (at least the team) without a contract.
