As Josh reported earlier this week, ESPN NFL Insider John Clayton doesn't see the Bengals returning to the playoffs in 2013. Although many of us would strongly disagree with our never-ending, relentless optimism and support for our beloved Bengals...the road back to the playoffs this season will not be an easy one.

Let's take a quick glance at the AFC teams who have current active playoff appearance streaks of more than one season. To say quick is an understatement, there are only three. Two of them are in our own division.

1. Baltimore Ravens
(4 seasons)

2. New England Patriots
(3 seasons)

3. Pittsburgh Steelers
(2 seasons)

We're used to taking a lot of negativity from the media in general, but the idea we won't be back in this year is not very far-fetched. I believe it will take a minimum of 3 Division wins, and 10 wins overall.
