Former Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver Chad Ochocinco will soon be a former New England Patriots wide receiver, according to ESPN NFL Insider Adam Schefter. According to Schefter's source the Patriots have been trying to trade Ochocinco all day on Thursday, coming up empty handed.
The Cincinnati Bengals traded Ochocinco to the New England Patriots on July 28, 2011, acquiring a fifth-round pick during the 2012 NFL draft (who became wide receiver Marvin Jones) and a sixth-round pick for the 2013 NFL Draft.
During his lone season with the Patriots, Ochocinco posted 15 receptions for 276 yards receiving and a touchdown.
After unsuccessfully trying to trade WR Chad Ochocinco throughout the day Thursday, the Patriots are releasing him, per league source.
And no. We don't see him returning to Cincinnati.
