Oh, Chad. According to published reports, former Cincinnati Bengals and New England and current Miami Dolphins wide receiver Chad Johnson was arrested Saturday night at his home, charged with domestic violence. According to the Sun-Sentinel, citing police reports, Johnson went to dinner with his wife Evelyn Lozada and when they returned home, "she found a receipt for a box of condoms, a police spokesman said."
"It gets pretty heated," Engle said. "By the time they get home here in Davie it's pretty heated. She alleges he leaned over and head butted her. He says she leaned towards him and that they butted heads. Needless to say she has a good laceration on her forehead."
Johnson was arrested when police arrived and saw "lacerations on her forehead." A Miami Dolphins spokesman declined comment:
"We are aware of the situation and are in the process of gathering all relevant information."
No word on if head coach Joe Philbin is interested on how many times Chad cursed. Johnson will reportedly be out of jail by 8:30 AM Sunday morning, but not before seeing a judge. Johnson spent 10 seasons with the Cincinnati Bengals after being selected in the second round during the 2001 NFL draft. During that time he set franchise career marks in receptions (751), yards receiving (10,783) and touchdowns (66).
