With nothing to look forward to this Saturday, I flipped over to the NFL Network for some pre-season Football. Although the 1st game was painful to watch (Panthers vs Texans) the 2nd game was more entertaining (Seahawks vs Titans). Here are just a few observations and my opinions;

1) The Seahawks appeared to get a steal grabbing Wilson out of the 3rd rd. Granted he played against mainly backup defenders, he appeared very poise and accurate with a rocket for an arm. He definately out played the Titans former 1st rder, Jake Locker.

2) Chris Johnson is almost done. Last season was sub-par for him, and he followed that up with a pathetic 8 yds rushing on 5 carries. One of the players that tackled him was a former practice squad player. Enough said..

3) Watching Clinton McDonald penetrate the O-Line and knock that pass away reminded me of the Kellly Jennings trade. We sorely needed a CB and we got one (although he recorded 0 INTs despite an ample amount of playing time) and we just surrendered a backup DT (who still has potential). Did we win or lose with that one?

4) RB Tauren Poole was the only thing that caught my eye in the 1st game. He is a talented RB and could be this yr's Arian Foster. Both played at UT and both were undrafted. And the best part is we may have a chance to sign him. Poole is listed as 4th on Carolina's depth chart, although that may change after Saturday's game. Despite just 4 carries he plowed through the much hyped Houston D-line and averaged 6.5 yds per carry with a TD. Carolina just extended Stewart on Saturday, plus have Williams and Tolbert locked up. Throw Josh Vaughn in the mix who the HC likes, and there won't be a spot for Poole in 3 weeks. If/when Poole is cut I say we scoop him up and give Scott the boot.
