The Bengals are suffering a bad outbreak of the injury bug at the early part of the preseason. Aside from the practice casualties, the team suffered injuries to four starters in their preseason opener against the Jets. One of those four injuries was a knee sprain to defensive end Carlos Dunlap. Up to this point we hadn't heard a timetable on his return.
Marvin Lewis spoke to the media today and spoke up about the amount of time that Dunlap will be missing (via Joe Reedy of The Cincinnati Enquirer).
It would seem that that period of time would only put Dunlap out for the preseason. He should be ready for the Monday Night Football season opener against the Ravens, but it will likely be a decision made that week. If that is the case, it would put Dunlap on the same return timeframe with running back Bernard Scott.
