Bengals wide receiver Jordan Shipley’s status as a question-mark on the Bengals eventual regular season roster does not appear to be getting clarity anytime soon. According to CBSSports.com, Bengals offensive coordinator Jay Gruden acknowledges that Shipley has yet to prove he’s fully removed from last year’s season ending injury.
While Shipley’s preseason performance of a single catch for four yards last week against the Jets was difficult to scrutinize considering he wasn’t playing with first (or second) team offense, it doesn’t exactly provide confidence for the wide receiver that has struggled throughout the offseason. Shipley will presumably be given opportunities for the next few weeks before a final decision is made, but one thing is certain: With the battle at the wide receiver position in full effect this offseason, Jordan Shipley will need to prove his injury is behind him sooner rather than later.
