HISTORY: The Cincinnati Bengals haven't posed much of a preseason threat against the Atlanta Falcons in each team's respective history, generating only two wins in ten total meetings. Cincinnati's last victory against Atlanta during the preseason was a 13-7 win in overtime on August 17, 1974 (my own mother was 18 years old).
The last time these two teams met during the preseason (August 27, 2007), the Bengals lost 19-24, the seventh straight loss to the Falcons during Monday Night Football. Carson Palmer completed 15 of 22 passes for 136 yards passing, two touchdowns and a passer rating of 115.0. Chad Johnson generated 83 yards receiving and a touchdown on five receptions with Chris Henry adding a 58-yard touchdown. Cincinnati's defense also generated five quarterback sacks, led by John Thornton (2).
