Lets get this straight some of us are split between Mays

A lot of us say that the guy cant cover and the guy cant wrap for a tackle, i understand i see what you guys see too, i know it disappoint a lot of us. I understand that we havent have a great Safety for so many years now and we want/need one like the Ravens and the Steelers. I know Safeties dont grow on trees, because if they did we probably wouldnt be looking for one.

In Mike Zimmer's scheme, both Safety has to be interchangeable, doesnt matter which Safety are you, you gotta be able to help in run support and be able to cover against TE's and slot WR's... I understand that many people dont trust Mays in coverage vs Slot WR's or the matter of fact TE's in general.. A lot of people say he doesnt have the IQ to look for the football and make a play on it..

On the other hand, I'll defend Mays and why I think he is a going to be a good starter for us.....It's going to be his 2nd season under Zimmer, and we all know what Zimmer can do even though he dont have the Superstar players on Defense..So Zimmer is the guy i can trust with this decision of keeping Mays inside the line-up or outside of the line-up. Look in yesterday game, I saw Mays knock the FB down with some authority and trying to send a message to the Falcons that its gonna be long game.. I understand what he was trying to do, its like an attitude. Look the top defenses have an attitude, look at the Ravens and Steelers in our own division they hit people right in the mouth and make the opposing Offense know that every yard they get they gotta earn it and its not going to be easy.

Okay now onto the bad, Mays hit on Vontaze was a bang bang play, i know some of you guys said the guy is dumb for knocking out his own players, but look Mays actually broke down and square the TE up and when he launch he just put his head down, I know thats bad when you try to hit someone with your head down, but it can be fix he just got to look who he is hitting and where he is hitting. but overall he had a good game didnt give up much big plays and he looked pretty good being the last line of Defense.
