Bengals offensive tackle Andre Smith dominated Carlos Dunlap during Oklahoma drills earlier this week. It was the first time that the team was in pads and usually Marvin Lewis and the coaching staff have a little fun with it setting up match-ups.
After practice Smith was asked about his win over Dunlap.
"It was a mutual understanding. I got him on that play and we compete every single day," Smith said. "It is just two guys competing and having fun. We were in pads for the first day."
A mutual understanding. There's something seriously badass about that statement. No shouts for glory. No arrogance of accomplishment. Just the way it's supposed to be. A mutual understanding. But it sure didn't look like Dunlap was having any fun... at all.
